This week, one of Marvel’s most anticipated films, Avengers: Infinity War, will be released.
Ten years and 18 Marvel films have led up to this anticipated feature and I can’t even explain how excited the Dudes in this house and I are about the release of the final installment of the Marvel Avengers series.
But, to give you an idea, here’s some real footage of us racing to the movies after school on Friday…
These Dudes have essentially been raised on the Marvel universe (in fact, the first movie in the series, Iron Man, came out the year Dude 3 was born). There hasn’t been a year since 2008 that we haven’t had at least one major Marvel motion picture to anticipate and, while this flick marks a major conclusion of sorts for Team Avengers, we are happy to have many more Marvel to look forward to (Captain Marvel comes out in about a month, for example).
Not that we need an excuse, but to get ready for the big day, we’ve been watching the Marvel Avengers related films over again.
While not all of the films in the Marvel Avengers series are perfect for kids, there are some that my Dudes consider must-sees.
The 10 Best Marvel Avengers Series Movies According to Kids
Hands down, Black Panther is our all time favorite Marvel flick. The Dudes fell in love with the royalty of Wakanda along with most of the rest of America, and they are eager to see the roll Black Panther plays in the next installment of the Avengers.
The dynamic between Thor and Hulk is what makes this film. The Dudes loved seeing the two of them together. Plus, they’ve always been especially fond of Thor and he is downright hilarious in this film. Personally, I miss his man-bun in this one.
Paul Rudd brings his special brand of boy-next-door humor to this one and, while it’s not gonna top many adult Marvel fans’ lists, it certainly sits firmly towards the top for all of my kids. They’re corny like that.
We’ve always been big Spidey fans, but this edition was particularly relatable because Spider-Man’s Peter Parker is a kid close to their age in their same time. They related so much to Spidey and his friends. Plus, I think all three of my Dudes have a crush on Zendaya.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1
Star Lord is probably the most awesome and relatable superhero of all time. He can’t fly, he can’t shrink, he doesn’t have a huge hammer that kills everything in its path, but he is by far the coolest. And his dance moves, yassss!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
There’s nothing Star Lord can do wrong with his band of sidekicks in the eyes of my dudes. With Drax and Groot and Gammora and Rocket, the Dudes seem to think Team Starlord is probably the coolest of all.
Because Robert Downey Jr. just brings Iron Man to life, especially in the first one when we’re just introduced to this egocentric, sarcastic man who says what he means and means what he says. It’s an awesome origin story (our favorite type of hero flicks) and it’s the one that really jumped off the Marvel movie franchise we know and love today.
Captain America: Civil War
Cap has always been a favorite hero of The Dudes. He is so American and his shield is pretty sweet. This film is hard because it pitted two of their favorite heroes, Captain America and Iron Man, against each other.
Marvel’s The Avengers
The cool thing about this one is that is the first that so many of the Marvel heroes come together in one film. And Nik Fury is in there doing is eye patch, cool guy thing. For obvious reasons my Dudes think he’s a total badass, although they don’t use that word, because they aren’t allowed to say ass.
Captain America: The First Avenger
Already told you we dig origin stories and as those go, Cap’s is pretty good. And so is Cap –a quintessential good guy, always doing the right thing for the right reasons in support of the right people, for some reason my Dudes dig him.
