Win with a Pin. A Fun Way to Win a Gift from

I know, today is Tuesday which means the six of you still reading this blog daily are probably hoping for a Dumb Mom’s Guide.

I know.

And, it’s coming.

When you’re probably gonna forget to even read it.

Because who really reads blog at 4pm?

No one, that’s who.

Anyway, in order to make up for my lack of ability to stick to a schedule when faced with kids barfing, basketball games, birthday parties, holiday decorating and shopping, and an evening spent talking to Frederick in the Philippines of HP tech support to fix my BRAND NEW COMPUTER THAT SUDDENLY STOPPED FUNCTIONING I’m bringing you something awesome from my pals over at Wayfair.

Don’t know what Wayfair is?!

Well, I didn’t either when I first popped over to their sleek new site.

Wayfair is the grown and sexy version of CSN.

Remember that conglomerate of shopping sites where you could by everything from baby cribs to a pooper scoopers?!

Yep, now the brand formerly known as CSN has migrated all of their amazing products over to this one happy little place that allows you to bring “a zillion things home”.

Perfect for all of you hoarders shopaholics out there!

And, in the spirit of the holidays I’ve decided to give one of you lucky readers a sweet little something from the you-can-find-pretty-much-anything-you-want-if-you-look-long-enough shop I’m coming to love.

I selected a few re-giftable nice items to make your holiday awesome and pinned them to my board: Wayfair is Way-Awesome.

I may not be one of the Wayfair tastemakers, but I know what I like when I see it and all of the items I pinned for you to choose from are things I would buy for myself or for someone I liked enough to give a gift to!

Here’s how you enter:

  • Look around right now and check to be sure you are over 18 and living in the US of A.
  • Check your blog reader or your Twitter feed and make sure you are following me (@dumbparent).
  • Head over to my Wayfair is Way-Awesome Pin Board and look at my merchandise choices.*
  • Smile.
  • Choose one you like FROM THE BOARD and then come back here and leave a comment telling me which item you would like should you be so lucky.  Not seeing what you want?!  Feel free to go to and pin something (under $60) you like onto one of your boards and then come over and share THAT link with me here.
  • Be sure to do all of the above before this contest closes at midnight, Easter standard time, on Sunday, December 18th.

Easy, right?

And, you get to spend the next 4 hours on Pinterest.

Go ahead, thank me now!

*Please note, to enter contest entrant must select one of the listed items.  Final item selection including size, color, etc will be once winner is selected.  You are NOT guaranteed to receive the item selected.  Sometimes items sell out or people change their minds; nothing is final until the order is placed!

I would love the automatic pet feeder! Or maybe I should say my yellow lab, Lucky, would love it since he thinks he’s dying if dinner is ever a little late! :)

  2. Becca - Our Crazy Boys says

Oh. my. gosh. The cuteness of the corkscrews is overwhelming me!!

But I would have to buy 10 of them so I can line them up all cute.

  3. Robin Scott says

forgot to add that I follow you on gfc as Robin Scott, twitter as robinlscott, and yahoo rss

I would like to point out that it is 4pm, and I (tah-dah!) am reading your blog. Mostly because I am avoiding helping with homework/refereeing fights/making dinner. If I hide long enough, maybe they’ll all ruin their dinner.

I have to say, I loooovvvvveeee the cupcakes for my girls. They are just way too cute!

May I please have the CROCKPOT? My mom still has one form the 80s…it’s a green and BradyBunch-wood-planel-siding of a station-wagon that’s brown. The lid is being held together with tape…can we just blame it on the recession and not a lack of desire to ‘let go’ of the little things?

Hi, I follow you on Twitter (@shala_darkstone). I’d pick the one small appliance under $60 because we could use a new toaster.

I fell in love with a few of the items that you’ve pinned but if I have to name just ONE I’d say that I’m with Cynthia M! I love the Melissa & Doug Easel! Gotta run – I am still logging in my Pinterest hours. :)

Awwwww man. I was trying to get caught up on all the blogs I’ve haven’t read since last week and then I got sucked into Pinterest for an hour. Thankfully not 4.

I want those Robeez Fuzzy Ankle Boots for my baby girl. But pink. Cause even though I said I wasn’t going to insist my daughters wear pink…I want them to wear pink ;)
