Tonight is the big #ConvoThread Twitter party with my @iVillage pals.

I’m so excited about this one because it’s about something I LOVE: TV!

I mean, it’s about other stuff too.

But, let’s just focus on the TV element of it for now.

Because, clearly, that is what I am most excited about!

To be honest though, if you’ve watched the video?  About our guilty pleasures on TV?  You will note that I mentioned my way to wile away an otherwise productive night involvs The Bachelor.

Only, guess what?  I didn’t actually watch The Bachelor this season.

Because the Bachelor they chose was lame not really someone I could connect with, and all of the prospective mates they located for him were total whores, um, unlikable.

I don’t like watching lame, unlikable people with bad hair and annoying personalities get to live in a fancy mansion and spend their days flitting between hot tubs and helicopters as they jet off to beautiful locales they don’t deserve or appreciate.

So yeah, I watched two episodes and then said forget it.

So I watched reruns of Storage Wars instead!

Along with Once Upon a Time, Modern Family, American Idol, and a little Vampire Diaries to catch up on the season.

So, hop on Twitter tonight and follow the #ConvoThread hashtag because we’re gonna talk all about that stuff, and other cool stuff too, like which celebrity we’d like to leave our husband’s for mom we’d like to have a lattte with, and which of our kids is our favorite, and other easy-to-talk-about type stuff.

And, what do you need to go with a girls night on Twitter?!

Deliciousness (and wine) of course!

Naturally, I have a few suggestions for what you should bake in preparation of our happy little Twitter party tonight.  And, since I’m a bit of an addict, all of my favorite recipes can be easily found on Pinterest!

1.  Best.  Cookies.  Ever.  Easy to make.  Yummy to eat.

2.  Like a peanut butter cup.  Only a ball.  That’s crunchy.  And delicious.  We can sadly only enjoy these when our Peanut Allergy Baby is staying at Mimi’s house.  At which point I make these, and eat them, in their entirety, on the same day!

3.  In case you’re stuck being healthy or something, these aren’t horrible.  I mean, they’re no chocolate wrapped around peanut butter and pretzels, but they are still pretty tasty.  And, I bet they’d be alright if you wanted to toss in a little tequila all margarita style.  Of course, they’d no longer be good for you if you did, so there’s that.

4.  And, in case you’re looking for something NOT to make, let me give you a tip.  Everything people pin does not wind up delicious.  Some things wind up down right nasty.  And they make you want to gag them right back up the way they came down in the first place.  This is one of those things.  In your face Babble.  #3 left his on the floor when he went to the potty (don’t ask why) and guess what we discovered?  That even Dumb Dog wouldn’t eat this!  And that’s saying a lot because she eats her own vomit.

I know, it looks rock solid, but believe me.  It’s not.

I mean maybe it’s good, but not if you take the whole oh-this-only-takes-two-minutes-to-get-tasty part seriously.

So, chose one of the other options.

I’ve made every single thing on this list.  So, I know what I’m talking about.

Now, RSVP for this party, and then show up tonight, on Twitter, 9pm (Eastern) and let me know what you made!

My friends ( @kellywallaceTV, @momonashoe, @mamaknowsitall, and @sharonmomof6) will be there with me (@dumbparent) too!

  1. Yum, dessert!

(Do I dare admit that that drink one *did* look so very good to me?)

    :)

  2. I’m new to this twitter party thing (not new to twitter, just to parties) and the one or two other experiences I’ve had with them simply overwhelmed me. I’m giving it another go cuz this sounds like a great time. ;-)

  3. I am so friggin’ hungry right now and that all looks good. Gee, I think I’ll go eat my baked fish, brown rice, and steamed veggies now. Yum.

  4. So I’m not the only one who has suffered through a terrible tasting recipe that looked absolutely stunning on Pinterest? That just shows the power of Photoshop (which I desperately need to master!). I gave up on the Bachelor years ago. All the producers are about is highlighting drama and I have enough drama in my life. Plus, if I’m going to spend time watching reality TV, the Real Housewives are my guilty pleasure. I think it’s because they are all OLDER than me…lol!

    • Dumb Mom says:

I watched a couple of the Real Housewives episodes, I just got turned off when it got to NJ and never went back. I used to love a bunch of Bravo shows (that’s the channel it comes on, right?!). Like Millionaire Matchmaker and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Oh, I LOVED Queer Eye!

  5. OH I LOVE storage wars LOVE IT and have often thought hmmm wonder if we could do that here??? CAuse I am all about recycling and repurposing. It would be like a yard sale surprise box bwhahaha

    • Dumb Mom says:

I’ve been trying to convince my parents to do it for ages. I would be so down with going through storage lockers and selling the junk at the swap meet! I don’t enjoy the Texas version of the show though. The cast is just sooooo much less likeable!

  6. Jessica says:

Those peanut butter desserts look awesome. And I am glad to know I am not the only mom who watches the Vampire Diaries-even if the whole time I watch Im thinking about how I would hate for my kid to watch- since you know, the whole lets have sex and get drunk while in high school thing seems to be A OK on it. I guess if you are being hunted then those are kinda minor issues lol :) but I am the mom so I have no problem watching for a guilty pleasure!!

  7. Sounds like a fun Twitter party. I will try to make it but that is right at bedtime for my house. I can always show up fashionably late, right?

  8. Considering what I wrote today… I really should not have read this post. :)

  9. the cookies. mmgh.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think the Bitchelor has lost control of their concept. Unless I am just naive and it’s not about true love? Ben looks like a girl.

    • Dumb Mom says:

Ben is the primary reason I couldn’t watch. I didn’t like him when he was in the running for the previous chick. He acts like a girl too. Gag.

  10. I think that I just gained 5 pounds reading this.
Have you ever watched Dance Moms? Don’t. It will suck you in and never let you go. It’s like a train wreck…you can’t turn away.

    • Dumb Mom says:

I’ve not watched that one yet. Because I know how I get about shows. Like Flavor Flav. Yeah. I watched it. Like a mofo. And I felt like an idiot every week.

  11. You totally had me at #2. That is something I could eat in one day as well… and (as far as we know) we don’t have a peanut allergy here!

  12. Thank you for being truthful about that last one. I hate when I take the time to make something and dirty my kitchen, only to find out it’s crappy.

    • Dumb Mom says:

Me too! That’s why I was so upset about it! And The Dudes were SOOOO disappointed I had to go and make another dessert!
