Wordful Wednesday. Introducing The People Of Photo Project.

I’m sure you guys are over hearing about me and my trip to NASCAR.  I know Dumb Dad certainly is.  So, I promise not to rub it in dwell on it anymore.

After today.

Because, in addition to all of this awesome…

I also got to do something I’ve been wanting to do since about 2009.

Hang out with one of my favorite blogging mamas:

Kristi from Live and Love Out Loud.

I have “known” Kristi for years now and can honestly say that she is one of the most creative, personable, smart, fun, and all around fan-freaking-tastic people in the blogosphere.  And also, in the world.

She has integrity.  She has talent.  And, most importantly, she’s got swag.

All things I love in a human.

It was so much fun to get to spend some quality time stalking cute boys with her that wasn’t entirely taken up by work.

I actually feel like I got to know her on another, real-life-not-blog-life level and I feel grateful that I can call her a for-real-life friend now.

While walking around the interesting city of Charlotte holding hands and skipping one snapping photos of beautiful human randomness, we stumbled upon an idea…

What if we did this in every city we visited?

What if we used our cameras to discover this human beauty every time we went someplace new, or someplace old, or just someplace?!

And that is how The People Of Photo Project was born.  No pushing, no screaming, no holy-crap-kill-me-now-episiotomy.

People of is a collaboration between the two of us, our cameras, and the People Of every city we set foot in from now until, um, maybe forever.

It’s a way for us to share our story and those the people we meet with all of you and, um, maybe the world.

Because once you know those stories are out there, you kinda sorta have to know more right?

Like, you look at this picture, of these Dudes and you probably think one thing.

And then I get to tell you something else.

That these young-college-boys-who-barely-look-a-day-out-of-my-high-school-in-1992, are Charlotte-tonians (is that what they even call themselves?!), who go to school, look fly, and maintain a proud membership in a popular up can coming dance crew.

They spent a good 30 minutes posing for our photos.  And telling us about their crew.  While trying to make sure GTop (yeah, the one with the box) made it to his job interview on time (fingerscrossed he did and I seriously hope they hired that boy!).

And then we exchanged screen names and I felt like I was 15 so that they could share their project with me…

So I could have the pleasure of sharing it with all of you.

I’ve watched it at least 5 times (because the song is catchy, and the moves are cool, and even the editing and stuff is beyond anything I could pull off on my own), and I hope you’ll take a sec to watch it too.

And then, go over to People Of on Facebook and join us.  Because we are planning to take the country by storm and we’d hate for you to miss it.

People of charlotte

This week Angie (Seven Clown Circus) and I decided to focus on enjoying fall, since pretty much everyone is talking about it anyway!

  • The twins plus one hit up the pumpkin patch at Being Cheap is Easy.
  • There was a wagon full of cute pumpkin pickers at Little Mouse’s House last week.
  • Eat Picks shared a photo of some pumpkin truffles that made me want to quit Weight Watchers on the spot.
  • Project Alicia shared a beautiful fall collage so perfect you could almost smell the autumn leaves and cinnamon scented candles straight through your computer!

Have something Wordful to share?!  Link away…

  9. That is pretty awesome!!!!! I am 100% jealous that you got to hang with Kristi. I was hoping to be able to do so when she was going to be in Vegas on another trip- but it was cancelled for this Toyota one so – no fun for me :(

I’m loving this project you two have started. My son thinks it’s cool that you met Brian Scott at the track. He loves how “fan-friendly” it is at NASCAR. His room looks like a NASCAR museum. The Vegas track is his Disneyland.

  10. What a cool idea.

I love watching people dance. I’m amazed at the talent.

  21. Oh! Love that song and video! You’re right, it’s catchy and they’re very 90s, aren’t they? Almost remind me of BBD in a way…maybe that one guy’s hair. Also? I’m liking the idea of that People of project…
