Dumb Mom’s Guide to Gifts for Moms, Bloggers, & People Who Enjoy Being Amazing.

Black Friday is behind us.

Cyber Monday is a thing of the past.

Probably you’ve checked off a bunch of the people you love from your holiday shopping (or hand making) list.

Which means: now it’s mom’s turn!

Feel free to print this bad boy off and give it to your husband so he doesn’t need to go into Victoria’s Secret and ask the sales girl her size has some guidance.  Or, go ahead and pick out a few things for me yourself so when husband comes home with a pair of ridiculously itchy underwear a vacuum cleaner something ridiculous, you’ll be able to smile with the knowledge that you already got exactly what you wanted.

Have a husband that is actually really awesome at picking you great gifts without you even having to copy and paste the links in an email to him?  Shut up while I try not to hate you Lucky.

Awesome, Affordable Gifts for Moms, Bloggers, and People Who Enjoy Being Amazing

If you give a blogger a gift, she is going to want to take a picture of it…

When she takes her picture, she is going want to share it with her friends…

When she’s finished, she is going to want to tell everyone about all of the other stylish type things that she loves (1. Lionel Richie Teapot: Lenny Mudd.  2. Fingerless gloves: Gap  3. Cool Socks: Stance.  4. Printed Leggings: Urban Outfitters.  5. Curl Co-Wash: Ouidad  6. Bangin’ Boot Socks: Catherine Cole Studio. 7. Glitter Scarf: Old Navy.  8.  Beenie: Zumiez,  9. Awesome Calendar: Neu Year.)

After that, she will realize that she probably needs some color in her life (why am I so totally neutral?), and will ask for a canvas from Printcopia to jazz things up…

Once she has that, she will want to share some other seriously sexy gifts her photo taking homies will love on (all of which can be found at Photojojo, a shop you MUST be familiar with if you plan to even pretend you know something about using a camera while simultaneously living awesome)…

After the pictures are covered, she will want to order something from her most talented blogging buds too (NiceGirlNotes makes the notes, duh, and Bad Mommy Moments wrote the book, both items would make lovely gifts for ladies (and gents, I guess) who like to read, write, breathe, eat, laugh, cry, or be amazing, which includes most humans worth knowing, right?)…

And, when all of these things arrive, she is going to want to take a picture.

And, if she wants to take a picture, chances are, she will realize that they would make really great gifts.

Or, she will realize that she’d like to keep it all for herself because she already has to share all of her best stuff with her kids and she really, really, really just wants that notebook to NOT be used as a scribble pad by that one kid of hers who refuses to write with anything other than that big, dumb, bleedy, red Sharpie.  Ugh.

Want to avoid the I bought-something-for-myself-for-Christmas-guilt win something?

GIVEAWAY: I have a gift code for an 8×10 canvas at Printcopia AND a bottle of Curl Co-Wash from Ouidad (if you’ve been wanting to try, now is your chance to check it out!).  Just leave a comment saying what you want and live in the USA (contest closes Sunday, 12/2, midnight, Eastern time).

*For the record:  I currently have a made hate on for the mouse with the cookie book.  Clearly it’s all I can think about at the moment and, I kid you not, if I have to read it aloud to my children once more in 2012 I will give that mouse a cookie baked with rat poisoning not even feel bad for not letting him a glass of milk to wash it down with..  Real talk.

*And, for the other record: I was provided with a couple of things on this list free of charge.  I didn’t get any extra dough or cupcakes to say nice things about them.  I seriously, just really like all of this and think you will too!

  2. I am giggling hard because my husband calls me Neutral Woman. I do try to get pops of color but no matter what store you visit, there’s this drab gray and brown. WINTER DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN COLORLESS!

    • I feel all drab and icky in the winter. Maybe I’d feel better if I went ahead and stopped dressing all debbie downer-y.

  3. I heart Photojojo..like pinky swirlys and unicorn kind of love…and I don’t even like the color pink! :-)
    I would love the Ouidad!!!

  4. Ahhh, you make me giggle. I died a little at the asking the Victoria’s Secret girl her size thing. I used to work in a women’s clothing store back in the college days and it was seriously alarming how many men would come in a be all “Well, she’s about your size in the… er… bust. And her size in the… backside.” Oh men.

  5. Wait… is that a shutter control in an iPhone??? I NEED that! Well, that and half a dozen other things and of course I live in the US.

  9. I not only make a list for my hubby, I copy and paste pictures to it. :D

This year I want speakers that I can plug my iPhone into so I can listen to my music wherever.

Last year, he let my daughter (who was 5 at the time) go crazy in Charming Charlie, picking out whatever she wanted for me. I LOVE Charming Charlie. But I wouldn’t necessarily pick out the same thing as my kindergartner. I DID use the magenta and black, zebra striped purse one day so that she could see me using her gift with a smile (just like I did when he let my son, who was 7 at the time, pick out Britney Spears perfume for me) But the necklace with the awesomely HUGE silver and black rose with the dangly iridescent plastic teardrop “jewel” hanging from it, I tucked away hoping she’d forget about it. (she did). That being said, opening these gifts from my kids makes me laugh and I love seeing what they pick… My husband doesn’t get let off the hook so easily. :)

    • The Soundfreaq! It really is awesome and you don’t even have to plug your phone in; you just use Bluetooth and it works! I listen to mine EVERYDAY!
