Wordful Wednesday. My New Year’s Eve Was Better Than Your New Year’s Eve.

I mean, I can’t say that for certain, but this is hard to top…

All night 4 year old dance parties are SO my jam.  Nahmean.

Pretty sure it’s the pelvic thrust followed by the cartwheel with the splits at the end that do it for me.

This brand of awesome is exactly what has people like Jay & Bey, and Kim & K, and all of those other formerly bottle-poppin-ice-rockin celebs jumping on the have a baby bandwagon.

Because one day, in 4 or so years, they may be lucky enough to have this kind of happy at home.

2013 is off to a groovy start…

And, synthesizers are dope.

How did you ring in 2013 (and, it’s totally cool to say you fell asleep drooling into your elbow on your couch, I’ve been there and I don’t judge)?

  1. I like his Gangnam Style!

  2. Ok can your 4 yr old teach my 45 yr old to dance?? Seriously? Love it. We played Quelf into the wee hours.. no wait just till 1 am. I sent everyone home, hubby went to bed and I stayed up till the wee hours lol.

  3. Your NYE really *was* better than mine! I got a migraine and rang in the New Year laying in bed texting my best friend.

  4. Those are some serious moves! My hubs passed out on me. The champagne is still in the fridge. LAME

  5. Your boys are adorable! We spent out New Year with a lot of good friends and family. It was really nice.

  6. I shared some ginger ale in champagne glasses with my 4 yr old girl and we also ate gingerbread cookies. It was so much fun! My favorite part of his moves was keeping his pants on lol!

  7. This is hilarious !!! We brought in our new year on the couch watching Mom’s Night Out on NickMom (you could probably be on there) and catching up on our DVR recordings…sounds lame but hey, we have a 10 month old! We did go out prior for a nice dinner and scrumptious dessert!

It looks like you guys had loads of fun. I wonder how your boys are going to feel about these videos years from now!!!

    • I need to check out this NickMom business. I’ve heard a lot about it but keep falling asleep before I can even catch it. I tell myself that in the future, these videos will come in handy because they are going to be amazing super stars and everyone likes to watch home videos of like Justin Beiber and Ray Lewis. If they aren’t famous then, um, yeah.

  8. That boy is definitely *your* child! He is too cute and too funny. Love the awesome dance moves. :)

Happy New Year, Amanda! We really need to catch up sometime soon!

  9. My legs. They are all danced out like Lisa Lisa’s eyes are all cried out WHERE DID THAT COME FROM? Happy New Year! May 2013 be just as filled with random catchy tunes and late into the night danceathons.

  10. Rang the new year on the couch, watching everyone celebrate on TV, while my kids and DH were asleep! LOL! And I loved it! A far cry from the club that was your house, huh? ;-) Happy New Year, friend!

  11. I would say your NYE was more exciting than mine. :)

  12. I love the dancing. That’s Buster’s favorite song. I had to really negotiate with him so that he would allow me to use a different song on his photo show. I didn’t really think “sexy lady” was appropriate. ;-)

For the first year, we allowed the kids to stay up and watch the ball drop. We normally have a sitter, however, this year, we got together with friends who have kids and they all stayed up. It was quite the experience.

    • Whaaaa? Sexy lady isn’t appropriate? Darn, I should probably get my kid to stop calling me that then, eh? But, I just like it so much. This was #3′s first NYE appearance. Clearly he made the most of it!

  13. Adorable! So adorable. I share your love of dance parties with the wee ones: my NYE was spent with my two-year-old as my date. She danced Gangnam style. And made it onto the big screen. And it was amazing.

  14. Oh what fun! I should have joined you. :)

  15. They’re so cute! Looks like you guys had a great night.

We went to a pub with family to eat and watch my brother perform and were all passed out in bed by 11!

  16. What an awesome start to the new year!

Can’t wait to see what the boys are up to this year.

    • Me either. Although this is the year #1 goes to middle school & #3 goes to kindergarten. I imagine 2013 will be more weepy than 2012.

  17. Man, the kid has moves. Looks like a perfect NYE to me!

    • It was pretty fan-freakin-tastic. Although, by midnight I was entirely over the party and #3 was still rockin. He’s going to be quite the college student I think!

  18. He does it better than the original!

  19. And to think all we did was watch a movie… Well maybe because they had been at the grandparents’ place for two days rockin’ out to techno. Yep I’m going with that! Happy New Years.
PS I think New Years in PJ with kids is really the best ever! :)

    • We reached this point where exhaustion turned into intense energy for the 4 year old and I really felt like I was at a rave. Only I got to wake up sober and not in a pile a barf, so totally better!
