I’m not big into politics.
I mean, sure I vote and I read up a bit on some of the issues, but for the most part, I focus on the things I’m passionate about and leave everything else to the experts.
I’m what you’d call a something of a political specialist. Yes, that sounds smart!
I am a political specialist: I get extremely edumacated on a few key issues (and by a few I mean like a couple) that are important to who I am as a human and a mother, and then leave most of the other junk to other people. I function best with just basic knowledge on those other things; just enough so that when someone brings it up at a hideously boring cocktail party, I can not be all what-you-talking-bout-Willis.
Besides, I can’t be awesome and well versed on EVERY topic, right?
But, I can take every opportunity to learn more!
Especially when that learning comes straight from the horse’s mouth (which, for the record, wasn’t even remotely horse like).
I (along with a few other Maryland based bloggers) recently had the opportunity to have a serious sit down with the Governor of Maryland, Martin O’Malley.
I listened intently…
I got some face time (and asked him about football)…
And, I played Minecraft on my iPad…
Kidding, I was taking notes. On, um, something. Swear.
More of what I learned about current initiatives on important things like childhood hunger and gun regulation coming soon in a Real Talk post.
What were you up to this week?!
Go ahead and link up your Wordful Wednesday posts and take a minute to welcome Angie at Seven Clown Circus back to blog life (she was only gone a week, but dangit I missed her). Also, we’re adding a new element to the features by actually posting the photos we select. This means that, if you link up, you’re totally cool with us posting your photo if we find it awesome. We won’t alter it at all and we’ll give you the credit you deserve. 100%.
Now, enjoy the features from last week!
- Check out real toddler style with Kristi at Live and Love Out Loud. Tutus and and leopard print are SO in.
- Go back in time with Nicole at Pharr Away as she looks back at her baby’s first year! Hooray for first birthdays!

- A perfect look at Dude Mom Life. Because drinking from a carton is just gonna happen.

“playing minecraft on my ipad” made me lol. Love the features from last week! :)
Admit it, you really were playing minecraft!
Thanks for featuring me this week!
I’m not really big into politics either but wow what a cool experience!!!
What a cool experience! And your boys had to gain some bragging rights with their friends, “Yeah well, my mama met with the governor!”
You are awesome!
I would have been playing games on my phone too er I mean taking notes LOL
Beautiful, bangin’ body, stylish clothes and edumacated? You are taking awesome to a whole other level! Haha! Thanks for featuring my little girls toddler style. :)
Those bunny boots and that orange juice photo got me! So cute.
Honestly, that looks like a fantastic way to spend a day! Love!
It’s like you’re living in an episode of “Scandal”, but not cleaning up political messes, or being in DC, or the part about having an affair with the prez either… but, you know, still JUST like an episode of Scandal…
What a wonderful opportunity to be heard. Well done!
You’re a crack up! And just thought you should know, I’m loving the stripes.
Princess Nagger would be extremely happy if you were actually playing Minecraft – she’d think you were the coolest of the cool! ;)
Hot Chocolate Dragon
Nice! I love your dress by the way!!
What a fantastic opportunity. I am a political junkie- love it- all topics.
What an awesome opportunity!!!
They’d have hated me, asking questions about tuition hikes and speed cameras.
When I’m around important people, I just go blank. I mean completely blank. Lucky-to-remember-to-control-my-bodily-functions blank.
So? The NFL? The Governor? I think you are slightly more powerful than you let on.
