Just like that time period following the Civil War, when America had to attempt to put their lives back together following the bloodiest war in our history, I’ve been working to reclaim what was lost in Dog Destruction of 2013.
After another quick trip to the super sized hardware store (which is quickly becoming one of my favorite places), I put my ruined shelf back on the wall.
Dumb Dad took a couple of hours out of his Saturday breaking off all of the stray pieces of glass from the ruined snow globes. By hand. Because he loves me.
And, because I cried.
He convinced me to keep even the broken ones because they are part of our story, broken or not, and the fact that the evil beast Dumb Dog ruined them is just another chapter.
It sounded convincing and sweet when he was saying it while I was blubbering over the whole mess.
I didn’t really have time to consider what it would look like all busted out and broken when I put everything back together…
Less pretty. It looks so much less pretty.
It needs some additional awesome to get it back to a semblance of what it used to be.
I loved the way the moss garden added a little green and life to the area, but since there’s not much chance I will order another (that thing wasn’t cheap) I’m in the market for something green-and-living-ish to dress up the look.
Or, maybe art work would be better? Or a candle? Or, um, a pot of gold?
Okay, I don’t have a pot of gold, but I do have a Red Envelope gift certificate that is straight up burning a hole in my pocket. So, let’s start there (duh!).
They have so many cute home accessories to choose from: custom wall art, pretty candles, vintage inspired bud vases, Bonsai-Daniel-son, and tons of other cool stuff. I’m no good with choices so you’d better just tell me what you think I should get…
Full disclosure here, when I take your advice and redecorate this space to awesomeness, I intend to take all of the credit for it’s transformation. I mean, the original look was all me, I’m just too exhausted and cash strapped to recreate it without some assistance.
*Official sounding pBd disclosure: This is a sponsored post which basically just means that I’ve been compensated by the aforementioned brand mentioned to share with you why come I find them awesome. They don’t tell me what to say or how to say, I don’t even have to say I like them if I don’t want to. Awesome stuff gets mentioned, everything else doesn’t. That’s just how I roll.
