Last summer.
Or, the one before?
Or maybe it was like Spring, 2010.
I don’t know. It was ages ago. So long ago we’re gonna call it, “in the past”.
So, “in the past” I thought it would be fun to send an old school disposal camera around the blogosphere to some of my favorite blogging mamas.
The idea was that they’d take a picture of what mama blogger life was like in their neck of the woods, then package it up and send it on to the next mama.
It worked!
Sort of.
I mean the camera finally found its way back to me (like nearly a year later), intact, filled with photos.
Some of the photos looked like this…
Seriously who even is that? Kidding, it’s me. I recognize that thermostat.
Even my photo, expert photographer that I’d like to think that I am, turned out all bunkalicious…
Hooray! I even captured myself in the midst of arguably bad parenting (please don’t bother with the you-shouldn’t-give-your-kid-McDonald’s-business, I got it, check).
Which really proves one thing: digital cameras changed the world!
But, old cameras are so fun!
Thanks to all of the lovely bloggers who participated in my little feels-like-an-eternity-photo-chain challenge!
Photo credit 1-3, 5-8, & 10: your best guess. 4, Momma Made It Look Easy. 9, The Miss Elaine-ous Life.
For the record, I’d totally do it again if any of you want to participate, I’m happy to start this bad boy back up! Or just put a saddle on my unicorn and gallop to your house to take beautiful photos of you and your family with my own camera (this, clearly, is a dream).
Should we reprise the Great Photo Challenge of 2010 2011 2012?, I promise to actually do a better job of keeping track of whose photo belongs to who (or whom? Or, she? Or, like, whatever?). Which is pretty much just Dumb Mom code for, if you see your photo in the collage up there, claim that baby in the comments and I’ll add your link.
Now, go ahead and link up your Wordful posts this week and check out our lovely featured bloggers too. My co-host, Angie, is offline this week so you’re stuck with me!

That is a cool idea! I just recently turned in a few disposable camera’s that I’d had lying around the house and it was a lot of fun to see what was on those cameras.
If you decide to start it up again include me in on the fun!
How fun is that?! I’m down for the next incarnation! (And I give my kids McDonald’s still. It’s called “I Need A Break Sometimes And I Don’t Feel Like Making Lunch.” Okaaaaay? ;-)
I love this idea. I think it is pretty cool. Unfortunately I can’t claim any of those awesome shots…..
So cool and def. old school! You know what else would be fun? Mailing around a cassette tape and having each blogger record her fav. song onto the tape and then you’d get back a totally rad mixed tape!!!
I love this, such a neat idea and I’d definitely participate if you ever decided to do this again! Shot #2 in the first group of photos is TOO cute, so hoping someone claims it so I can pay them a visit! Loves it!!!
Heck yes I want to do it again!
I don’t know what that is so you will have to educate me! :)
What a great idea!
Fun idea! I have found a few disposable cameras over the years…it is always fun (and sometimes scary) to see what was on them!
Such a fun idea! But boy, digital photography really has transformed our world, hasn’t it?
Send it up here to Canada! I will snap pics of poutine, bagged milk and peameal bacon!!!!!
Me too! Wait, I don’t have peameal bacon in Vancouver! Send me some!!
Oh how fun! I’d happily sign up for the next grand event should you choose to do it again – though I would love to see you come riding over here on your unicorn for fun, too. ;)

If 2010 is old school, then it was me….the old school blogger in one of those pics! And I claim #3 in the second set where Twin B told me he loved me on a trash can. And that is my blogging coffee cup my hubs made me sitting there on top. And now, I’m a has been, who would love to return and has been struggling to do so. So, if you were to send a crank and click, vintage wonder my way, well, I promise to be snap happy and pass it on! Maybe give us a theme this time? Like “capture the best or worst part of your day”….or “what I eat when no one is looking”….or “why my kid is smarter than yours”! Or we could each assign a the next person that gets it a new theme and send it with the camera?? Okay, it’s your thing. Stay out of it you no good lazy blogger, I hear ya! LOL!
How FUN that is- I love that idea!!
What a fun idea! I totally recognized Elaine’s kiddos…like right away.
I wonder if there’s a way to do it without sending the camera? Like maybe send a sd card? Or a flash drive? Well, I guess then people could just email them and that wouldn’t be as fun. Nevermind. Ideas suck!
What a fun photo thing you did and yes digital cameras have totally changed thing. I don’t know if my kids have any idea what film is.
I would absolutely participate if you do this again!
Such a fun idea!! I think it’s cool to see how the photos changed with each different perspective and family. And wow, the digital age of photography makes things so different now!

I had completely forgotten about this! It was so much fun. I would be up for it again, but completely understand if you want to do “new” people.
What?! I love this idea. The old school disposable and I have had a lot of fun in the past. It would be cool to revisit ;) Count me ‘in’!
This sounds really cool! Makes me want to blog so I can join in ;-)
Also- if you can harness your unicorn you can do our portraits in Alabama ;-)
That’s an awesome idea! Send a camera Kansas way!
Okay, so #2 in the top collage is Tracy’s daughter (sellabitmum) and I *think* #5 in the second collage might be Liz’s boys, from Learning to Juggle – not sure on that one though. NO idea on any of the others.
This was fun! You should totally do it again! :)
It is indeed a manatee! :oD
Thanks for your lovely comment! Made me laugh!

Hi there, I’m not a blogger but love this idea :)
I wonder if (tagging on a suggestion above) you could send out a flash drive that could be sent along from one blogger to another? It takes away from the old school aspect but might help with clearer pics? You could even send out multiples if you were looking for a certain theme so you’d get more in a shorter period of time?
I do love your blog and how you share with fellow bloggers, whatever you do will be fun!
Okay, mine is #5 and when I took the picture I wrote a blog post about it. You can see that post here. http://thecharmingtyrant.blogspot.com/2011/03/trappin-leprechauns.html
I would totally do it again.
Just to clarify #5 in the second collage.
That sounds like a cool project! Do it! Do it! I’m SO IN!!!
