The holiday season is officially upon us.
We went to an end of season pizza party with my son’s soccer team last week. When we arrived to the shopping center I noted that it was decorated with holly and ribbons. The Dudes ooohed and ahhhed over the sparkly trees and, when we got out of the car, we were accosted by the sound of Bing Crosby doing his Holly Jolly Christmas thing.
Never mind that it was 70 degrees that day.
I’m convinced that the retail industry’s desire to hurry along the holiday season is the reason the weather took a turn for the worse causing me to spend a good four hours freezing my patookis off on a football field this past Friday. Never mind that it’s November or that I live in Maryland or that when I say freezing I really mean a windy 50 degrees that literally feels like the exact same thing as actually freezing.
Nevertheless, not one to be outside the loop, I’ve already prepared my first Holiday Gift Guide of the season featuring the best gifts for moms who dig style. Because, duh, I don’t have a problem spending time looking for cute things I want to convince my family members to buy me while huddling under a blanket on my couch trying to get feeling back into my extremities.
Here are some good things to just go out and by for yourself hints to drop (and not feel guilty about because they’re all under $50)…
1. Fancy patterned leggings are what stylish outfits are made of in the winter. 2. Warm knit sweaters bring coziness and style. Just pair with your favorite pair of jeans, cute fur-lined boots, a coat, and some chic accessories for that ski bunny look you’ve always known you could totally pull off. 3. Camo Scarf for incognito days that are chilly. 4. A leather fold over clutch. 5. Also for days that are cold, a Pom Pom Knit Hat to rock, grade school style. 6. Funky patterned cozy wool socks. 7. Sparkly flats from everyone’s favorite big retailer: Target! 8. Arm dopeness from my friends at Modify Watches. 9. Cool tote for shopping and browsing (if you’re budget is slightly higher, take a look at the Stopper Tote, it’s my favorite bag ever). 10. Popdots Go Pouch from MilkDot.com. If you’re still rocking a diaper bag, this will make you feel more cool. 11. Love Knot Bangle from Max and Chloe.
A note to bloggers: my holiday gift list for kids is currently in the works. This year, in an effort to help out the medical center that has done so much for #3, the two of us are gathering gifts for the toy closet at Children’s National Medical Center. If you’re interested in being a toy closet sponsor, it’s super easy, way affordable, and we are giving you something in return: an awesome video…
While my eternal life and his hope for another sibling are just not going to happen, we can probably make some of those other dreams come true with your help.*
*If you want to donate money for us to buy a toy to gift to the Children’s National Medical Center toy closet, we already think you’re amazing and are happy to accept any amount. If you can afford to donate $25 we will give your blog an ad on our sidebar for the duration of 2014, just cause you’re awesome. If you are a business owner who wants to sponsor our efforts or donate a toy for feature in our guide we can hook you up, just hit me on the hip: thedudemom at gmail dot com.

Seriously, could he be any cuter? I love the big smile when he says “sister.” LOL
It’s actually not the christmas present, but the thought that matters, so think of your gift with care.
Overall, offer something that you know that the
particular person is looking to get, perhaps is something which has
come up in conversing or anything you’ve seen that person spotting or looking at.
There are various extra points that can be achieved
for fun and creativity.
Thee monetary value of the item is insignificant.
One of my friends once provided me his recipe for one of my favourite dishes, making it out in calligraphy on paper, along with an
opportunity to cook it beside me. Full cost approximately zero, while
one of the best, cute and special present that I
have ever received.
