Those of you who spend a great deal of time hanging with us here may recall that Dude 3 and I spent some time in New York earlier this fall.
It was all clandestine and on the down low because we couldn’t tell anyone about what we were doing. We could say we were going to New York, but not why. We could show photos of our time there, but not any of who we were with or exactly what we were doing.
Very incognito and junk.
And crazy hard for a person like me who can’t keep secrets without wanting to burst.
And we got a little bit of free time for Dude 3 to make his first ever visit to Times Square.
But, we didn’t get to share with you all of the info and photos about why we were there in the first place.
Luckily, we do now!
Yes, THAT is Kelly Ripa with Dude 3!
As part of our sponsored partnership with Children’s MOTRIN®, Dude 3 and I, along with these other beautiful mamas and their kids, are happy to be part of an amazing campaign to help celebrate, inform, and empower My Unstoppable Mom.
If you’ve been around the DudeMom blog for a while, you might recall that I’ve been doing the My Unstoppable Mom thing with Children’s MOTRIN® for quite some time. I just really love a campaign and a brand whose goal it is to help mothers be better for their children.
When you’re busy living a full life and ensuring that your family and everyone else you’re in charge of on a day to day basis, including yourself, is healthy, strong, focused, and equipped to win each day, being unstoppable is a must.
You don’t have time to succumb to things like migraines and cramps and the tennis elbow you got even though you haven’t even seen a tennis racket in 10 years.
You need to feel your best so you can do your best for the people who are counting on you.
That is the woman and the lifestyle Children’s MOTRIN® supports and celebrates with their My Unstoppable Mom campaign.
Which is exactly what they did for me and Dude 3 when we were in New York.
They set up this amazing opportunity, via secret Skype’s and other clandestine activities, to allow Dude 3 to create a special book cover project showing how much he loves me and why. Then, they brought us to New York and surprised me with it!
Yes, it was weird having my kid go into my office and do a secret Skype sesh like a technology boss.
Yes, I almost cried when I saw it.
And also, it is the brownies, you guys. The brownies (this is a link to the recipe in case you want to make your kids love you with it)!
And here I thought it was my tireless efforts helping with homework, driving them from place to place for sports, ensuring they have the things they need in life (like food and shelter), contributing to their college funds, paying for their health insurance, volunteering at school and sports, learning how to Hit the Quan and then doing it with them and their friends at parties, and holding their hair when they barf on my floor instead of yelling at them for not making it to toilet.
Turns out all kids really need to lead a happy life is stacks on stacks on stacks of chocolate followed closely by additional chocolate.
Makes perfect sense to me, of course.
Regardless, I am about slightly, only just slightly more than that and the fact that my children appreciate my tireless efforts in the kitchen and out inspires me to continue to work each day to make their lives happy, healthy, and full. And about more than copious amounts of chocolate.
Which is something you and your child can also help Children’s MOTRIN® do for other children.
If you take a moment to head to the Children’s MOTRIN® site and build a book with your child, you can help them donate a book to a child in need. They have partnered with Scholastic so that each time a book cover is created on the Motrin site, a real book will be donated to a family in need.*
It’s a great way to do something special with your kid and also to help another mom live and unstoppable life!
