I am not a major makeup girl.
I wear it because I feel like I look better with it on.
But, I don’t wear it daily and I don’t wear a lot.
My make up routine is pretty basic.
Foundation, powder, blush, eyebrow color, and something on the lips for my day to day.
And, by day to day I mean days where I will actually see people who aren’t strangers or relatives.
Recently, Mented, a newish cosmetics company reached out to me and asked me if I’d like to try their nude lipsticks for women of color.
Of course I said yes because finding a suitable nude lipstick for women of color is sort of a thing. Honestly, finding a nude anything for women of color has sort of always been a thing.
Because this is what nude traditionally looks like when you’re shopping in stores…
Only, I know what I look like nude and it ain’t gonna match that.
Companies who get that skin comes in so many colors and all of them deserve to feel beautiful have been answering the decades old call for something better.
Mented Cosmetics is one such company.
They make an entire line of nude lipsticks for women of color which means that they offer a variety of shades so that all brown girls can find their hue.
They are long lasting, moistening (I know, I hate that word too but it works), and they have seriously fresh names -like Dope Taupe, Pretty in Pink, and Nude Lala. They are also vegan, paraben-free, non-toxic, cruelty free, and proudly made in the USA.
Literally can not go wrong with these lippies!
Mented sent me the line to test and I went ahead and found my shade…
Hopefully you can find yours too.
