Tomorrow is Turks and Caicos!
I will be gone for six days in total. I have never left The Dudes that long before.
I am afraid.
I know they will be fine –DudeDad is staying home with them. But still. I am having a hard time getting pumped up about it.
I feel like I will miss so much -a final football game, an end of season party, hugs, kisses, their faces, their smell.
On the bright side, I am taking Mimi with me, there will be a lot of learning and connecting to do while I’m there, and I need a nap.
Like the long kind where an island breeze washes over you and there is zero chance that you will have to do dishes later. Or drive someone somewhere. Or break up a fight, or help with homework, or walk the dog, or look for someone’s athletic supporter because they threw it out of their pants on the field and probably it got left there.
Also, I bought happy sandals for the occasion!
On sale sandals that are so comfy and cute I got teary eyed when I discovered them.
They were originally $49, marked down to $25, and in my shopping bag headed home for $15 thanks to the reward points I had to cash in.
Find similar here.
So these will be on my feet when I leave town in the morning.
If you want to join me and my sandals (and my other island outfits) you should probably follow me on Instagram. I plan to share copious photos of my adventures to keep my mind off missing my dudes.
