When I was a kid, there was really only one way to get your teeth straightened: metal braces.
There may have been some super expensive alternatives that my parents would’ve LOL’d at me for suggesting, but for the most part all kids who got their teeth straightened turned into good old fashion metal mouths for a couple of years.
And many of us were forced to endure seriously awkward moments that may still haunt us to this day
Thanks to technological advancements in orthodontics, today’s kids don’t even have to live that life and they truly have all of the options when it comes to correcting their smiles. For our family, Invisalign® treatment is one that makes sense.
If you asked my kid what the best part about wearing Invisalign aligners is, I’m certain he would say something about being able to chew gum.
But, as a parent, there are so many other things about the Invisalign product that have made it a great choice for our family.
I think the two of us together can agree that Invisalign treatment has been an awesome idea for us so far, even if we have different reasons for saying so.
If you’re considering Invisalign treatment for your kids, here are some things that will probably push you over the edge.
5 Things Moms and Kids Love About Invisalign Treatment
It’s great looking.
Because it is virtually invisible! You can say adios to unfortunate, invasive looking appliances. In fact, most people won’t know that your child is even undergoing Invisalign treatment because the clear aligners are designed to not be obtrusive. If your child is super self-conscious about their smile, Invisalign clear aligners may be the way to go.
You can eat what you want.
You won’t need to modify your diet at all because you remove your Invisalign aligners to eat anyway.
You can have better oral hygiene.
It won’t make your kids brush without constant reminders, but when they do you can rest assured that they won’t have to worry about missing spots because they couldn’t get in between wires. And, as an adult Invisalign wearer (yep, I wore them too), I noted that my oral hygiene even increased! I had to brush every time I ate in order to put my aligners back in, which meant I was brushing several times a day –I really should’ve kept that up!
It super convenient because it requires fewer visits to the orthodontist for adjustments.
For me, convenience is super important, especially during the school year when our schedule is insane. With Invisalign, you won’t have to make time for monthly for adjustments at the orthodontist’s office because your doctor will provide you with aligners to change every couple of weeks.
You also don’t need to go for pokey wires or loose brackets.
Because you won’t have wires or brackets to poke or loosen!
