Let’s discuss morning routines.
We have three kids in three different schools, ours is something of a marathon. It starts around 6am when my high schooler gets up for school so he can catch his bus by 6:40, and it doesn’t end until after Dude 2 is off to middle school, and Dude 3 is off to catch his bus at 8:50.
That’s almost 3 straight hours of getting people ready for school.
And yes, it is as exhausting as it sounds.
The hardest part, honestly, is breakfast.
Because, while I am kind of amazing at marathon mom-ing, breakfast just doesn’t hold up that long. If I start a hot breakfast for Dude 1 at 6am, it’s not gonna be very tasty when Dude 3 rolls into the breakfast table at around 8:30.
I also don’t have time to run back and forth to the kitchen every hour to start something fresh.
As a firm believer in that whole breakfast-is-the-most-important-meal-of-the-day thing, I find the breakfast conundrum particularly annoying. It’s important to me that the Dudes start each day with a filling, nutritious, delicious breakfast –preferably one I create, not one I slide out of a box with the directions on the back. Partly because it makes me feel good as a mom, but mostly because I LOVE BREAKFAST.
Best. Meal. Of the day.
Added awesome when it’s simple and easy too.
A while ago I shared one of my favorite breakfast solutions with you guys –DIY breakfast sandwiches. I make them in bulk and I freeze them in easy-to-microwave packaging so my boys can have delicious weekday mornings.
When McCormick sent me their new Good Morning Breakfast Seasoning to try, they inspired me to develop a new easy morning meal idea: reheat & eat breakfast burritos!
Breakfast burritos are super easy to make, and with the Good Morning Breakfast Sprinkles to easily add a little kick of flavor, they are quite the hit around here.
The kids love them because they’re tasty and filling and I love them because they’re easy to make and even easier for them to reheat on busy mornings without my help.
Looking for an easy morning meal idea for your family? Try our tasty breakfast burritos.
