Okay, so that’s an unofficial statement based
entirely largely on the personal and subjective opinion of my mother, but that’s not super important.
What is important?
Awesome new blog layouts of course!
That’s right, sexy people… welcome to the new and improved DudeMom.com!
Maybe you remember last year, when I put out this should-I-even-be-a-blogger-post.
It was one of those months years weeks. I was feeling down, nothing was going the way I wanted it to, the bright side was a super far away glimmer, my joy was stomped into oblivion. I didn’t write that post so people would say nice things to me, I wrote it because I felt it, and the fact that people said nice things to me was a beautiful bonus.
A beautiful bonus that inspired me to work on doing something different.
I decided that I needed something, anything to help me feel in control; to make me feel like good things would happen because I could make them. And to feel pretty, because everyone knows, when you look good, you feel good!
So, I reached out to the best blog designer on the planet, and began a journey that has taken 6 months to complete (mostly because I’m slow and I have a hard time with commitment and I get sidetracked easily and have you watched iZombie yet? So good!).
After tons and tons and literally, tons, of back and forth emails where I would whine and ask ridiculous questions and whine some more and then forget what I was even supposed to be doing (seriously, Krystyn is part saint), Krystyn has worked her html magic, and DudeMom has been reborn.
And, after forever of me looking like this…
I am feeling pretty darn…
right about now.
For many of you, everything here will feel different, but I’m guessing that today is the very first day that some of you are stopping by DudeMom.com.
Maybe you stumbled across a pin of mine on Pinterest, or you found my link in an article, or a friend shared a funny Facebook status update that you clicked on, or you are a sick person and Googled dumb fat mom (yes, it’s a top referrer and I still can’t figure out why!).
The how and the why aren’t super important (unless you Googled dumb fat mom and then seriously, what are you looking for?!), the important thing is that you’re here and that you stay!
5 Things To Know About DudeMom.com aka The Best Blog for Moms of Boys and All Humans if I’m Honest
1. I like telling stories. So, get your tea and your slippers and settle onto the couch for a read. I can’t say it will be as thrilling as an episode of Housewives, but expect to be entertained. You can read stories about raising boys, funny stories, sad stories, heartfelt stories, and stories meant to educate.
3. I am happy to help you get fit, but I really love cookies and brownies and yummy things that will require you to do the two-a-day gym thing. I often share recipes here, it’s up to you to make them at your house though.
4. Sometimes I make things. And, sometimes those things come out amazing enough to be featured on other websites. Other times, blech, they come out terrible and even my kids are ashamed.
5. I have been blogging for 6 years, if you read my bio it says I keep my unicorn in my garage, but I got rid of it and traded it in for Pegasus (because wings are cooler than horns). Also, I used to be a teacher, I am currently also a photographer, I like chocolate, and Disney, and sparkly vampires, and hotels (not to be confused with motels, the two are not anything alike). I watch an episode of Fantasy Island every night before bed. You can also find me writing on other websites about football and fashion and being the very best mom in the whole wide world.
Thank you for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts, your feedback would be greatly appreciated!
