Fall is my favorite season.
But I mean for real fall, not this it’s 90 degrees one day and 64 the next situation we’ve got going on right now.
I love real fall weather, and real fall colors, and real fall smells (NOT PUMPKIN, THE OTHER ONES). I like chunky sweaters and fur lined boots and plaid tops and jeans.
I honestly wish it could go on forever and ever and ever.
And that every person just got a free trip to a hot and sunny place once a year for Vitamin D therapy.
Our health insurances could pay for it.
Since they don’t pay for anything else.
I’m here for you fall, don’t hurt me.
10 Things I Love About Fall
I finally get to open all of the windows in my house. Without catching on fire.
Lattes. The kind that are not spiced with pumpkin.
Going to the pumpkin patch. Because pumpkin patches are fun.
Boots. Boots. And more boots.
Not sweating profusely. To the point that, when people talk to you, you sweat more, because you are certain they are just wondering why the heck you are sweating so much. It’s a vicious and ugly cycle. And yes, I’ve had my hormones checked.
Layering. Because I look cute in vests.
Not having to shave my legs. I don’t go 60s flower child or anything, but I like to let a healthy stubble come on before I get at it.
Reassigning the pedicure fund to my chocolate chip cookie fund. And yes, there is a chocolate chip cookie fund and it is hideously depleted in the summer by my feet and their need of professional attention during sandal season.
Slipper socks and fuzzy blankets. Being cozy is a major part of self-care as far as I’m concerned.
Football. Not the fantasy kind. The real kind.
