I’m on a quest to find the best leggings.
I know. They aren’t for everyone. In fact, some people downright refuse to even wear them.
I myself recall a time not too long ago when leggings as pants weren’t a thing I could even consider. But, I have since come to realize what a wonderful addition to my wardrobe they are.
Because they’re easy to pair with sweaters and tunics, make a great layering piece under dresses when winter weather won’t let me be great, and come in handy for cozy days at home too, they’ve become a staple in my closet.
I don’t believe I can count on two hands the number of leggings I own currently and Marie Kondo can get away from here trying to tell me I don’t need every last one of them!
They bring me joy in a way only a pair of soft, no-slip leggings can and I’m keeping every single one of them.
There are just so many different kinds—workout leggings, work leggings, leggings for pants, home leggings, dressy leggings, weekend leggings, warm weather leggings, cold weather leggings, even colder weather fleece lined leggings, jeggings, treggings—ALL OF THE LEGGINGS!
And, like the tank top, they are a basic element of so many outfits that you can’t have just one pair.
But all leggings are not created equal and some of them are downright useless—sliding down, allowing muffin tops to overflow, not providing ample support to your not-20-anymore backside.
Material and design are major factors here and I have been known to spend a pretty penny in attempt to acquire just the right leggings to satisfy my current style desire.
But, if you had to choose, could you say which leggings were the best leggings?
I have to admit that pin pointing the very best leggings has been more of a challenge than I anticipated. Even after sampling leggings from countless retailers, from Sam’s Club to Nordstrom, I can’t say I’ve found the best leggings.
But, thanks to my research including expert recommendations from my Facebook community, I think I’ve found a few that are pretty darn close, at least in the under $25 price range.

The Best Leggings for Women for $25 or Less
Amazon Leggings Depot Leggings
“Yoga Solid Leggings, just like LuLaRoe but cheaper!” -Deanna M.
DudeMom: This is another pair I am in love with! I ordered these thanks to Deanna’s recommendations and SO HAPPY.
They are inexpensive and they actually hold everything in. They’re thick but not restrictive and they feel soft but still supportive. I’ve worn them twice and haven’t needed to pull them up once yet!

Best Leggings for Women: Pact Apparel Leggings
Pact Apparel. Very soft organic cotton at regular prices. -Laurie R.
DudeMom: I purchased these to give them a test run. While they aren’t what I would choose to wear to work or out with the friends and such very much, they are a great casual legging for around the house and running errands on the weekends, and I love the color-it’s such a rich burgundy. Plus, they only cost me about $16.

Best Leggings for Women: Costco Leggings
“Costco. Felina I think is the brand. They’re thick. Super soft. Don’t show anything you don’t want to. They hold up really well too.” -Kaila H.
DudeMom: I second Costco as a top pick, actually. They are some of the softest leggings I’ve ever owned.
I want to say you can get two in a pack for about $15. I bought a pair for myself and gave one to my mom and had to go back and buy another pack so we could both have two. We are fans.
You need a Costco membership to snag these.

Best Leggings for Women: Target Leggings
“I go with the ones from Target. Some are fleece-lined, some aren’t. I only where solid colors – black or gray only. But some have texture to fancy them up a bit.” -Kristen B.
DudeMom: I’ll give Target a vote too. I love all of the options and colors. I love the fancy ones.
I don’t love that the black ones tend to turn to gray after just a few washes but everything about Target can’t be perfect.

Best Leggings for Women: Old Navy Leggings
DudeMom: They aren’t the softest, but they’re probably the cutest! I love that you can get so many different patterns—stripes, dots, camo, lace—they have it all. And, they’re cheap. And always on sale. Two things I find pretty appealing.

Best Leggings for Women: H&M Leggings
DudeMom: I love the high waist leggings that are only about $15. I’ll never understand the ones with holes in them, but I am a fan of their faux leather leggings and I have this gathered pair in my cart—trying to decide if they’re weird.
