Moms need stuff.
Stuff to make them look better, feel better, and get the job of mothering done better.
Only, like half of the stuff people say you need, you really kinda don’t.
You don’t neeeeed a Diaper Genie (a pail works fine). And you don’t neeeeed a walker (the edge of the table will do). And you don’t need 1200 calories worth of chocolate chip cookies (shut up, I’m eating the cookies).
Items linger, and clutter, and become another one of those things you have to figure out what to do with 3 years from now when you discover it still collecting dust in the far corner of your living room. Where it’s been sitting, untouched (aside from that one week, when your kid jumped off it daily) for the past 36 months straight.
So, what do moms actually need and really want?
Here’s a working list courtesy of the DudeMom community!

*Please note: These are not all Mother’s Day gift appropriate because if you buy your mama a mop for Mother’s Day, she WILL have words.
The perfect tote bag. Not too deep, not too wide, not too many pockets, not to heavy, not too weak, not too hard to clean. It should have a sturdy bottom, shoulder-perfect straps, and the ability to zip. Oh, and stylish. I don’t wanna look like a granny when I carry it, but I don’t want it to be color blocked so that in six months it’s so, um, six months ago. –DudeMom
Squeezable applesauce pouches. For on the go eats that aren’t chips. –Recommend by Elizabeth Kominski, Mom of 2
Chewbeads. So your kid doesn’t have to gum your car keys. –DudeMom
Red Box and Amazon Prime. –Lucretia, Mom of 1, @LucretiaPruitt
I loved this Maclaren Stroller stroller. During my baby strolling years I owned at least 7 different strollers and this one was, by far, my fave. A little pricey but it lasts and lasts (technically, I still have it sitting in my garage). –DudeMom
“Miracle Blankets are just that–miraculous.” -Recommended by Valerie, Mom of 2, Charmed Valerie
