This week I sat in my house in a full on sweat courtesy of my personal refusal to turn on my air conditioning before mid May at least the nearly 90 degree temperatures.
I know, I shouldn’t complain now that’s it’s warm because really, I begged spring to stop being so stupid cold.
But.
I’m going to anyway, because, seriously. 87 degrees? In April?
Please stop pretending global warming isn’t “a thing”. Because it is SO “a thing”.
Specifically, it is “a thing” that made me sit on my couch most of Wednesday in a heat coma while my children laid on the floor in various states of undress trying not to die.
On the bright side however, the dog got a bath (her first in at least 10 months. Whatever. She’s an inside dog and she hates the bathing person as much as I hate giving baths to dogs with my own two hands).
And, I busted out my spring summer attire.
Strappy sandals nicely accessorized by shaved legs (adios winter hair) and pedicured toes. And dresses. So many dresses!
You guys know how much I love rocking a cute dress. They work perfectly for me because they don’t require a lot of time with matching and they are probably the only girly thing left in my life.
I am a firm believer in the fact that a girl can never have too many dresses. But, my husband bank account beg to differ.
Fortunately, I was recently contacted by a savvy, chic business owner who couldn’t agree with me more!
Star, who recently launched Lendperk, provides dresses for women to borrow at crazy affordable prices. You pick the dress you want to borrow, she ships them to you all pretty and clean, you rock them, then send them straight back to her in the prepaid envelope she provides you with.
It’s like “Netflix for Dresses”!
Um, awesome.
Because it allows you to sample something fresh and new and sparkly, without having to commit to it. Or, wear it with the tags on it and return all shady style to Macy’s after you sweated it up and spilled wine on it at the vineyard (no, I’ve never done this, but, um, this friend…).
Non Bloggers look away: Going to a blog conference this summer? Lendperk is the PERFECT solution for looking fly without breaking the bank, since your flight, hotel room, and conference ticket probably already did that.
In honor of sweating our faces off spring, this week I’m bringing you some awesome spring dress looks to try out, and two of them are available to rent at Lendperk!
The paisley print dress and the newsprint dress, are both hanging out at Lendperk. You can check them out, hey-hey dress library, too!
The bottom two dresses I snagged from Marshall’s (duh!). And, that polka dot one is very similar to the one Lauren Conrad is rocking in last month’s issue of Redbook. Only black. And cheaper. And probably at least 6 sizes bigger. But, still pretty cute!
Where do you like to do your dress shopping?!
*The More You Know: Lendperk loaned me the two dresses feature here free of charge so I could check out their service. I am not being compensated for this in any other way, and all opinions are my own.
Nice photos…like your dresses specially black dress….
online shopping for dresses and sarees
I hit the thrift store on Friday last week. It was 50% off weekend and I got 5 dresses and two tops for $20.
All our Easter wear this year came from the upscale consignment. Not my regular one. $110 for three of us not counting shoes.

oh! I love this idea! That’s awesome, you know since I suck at buying and then actually wearing the dress more than once!
Looking fab, lady! I am pretty much dress obsessed once the weather is warm. Loving the polka dots!
LOVE this idea! I’m headed to BlogHer Food and I need some new cute outfits!
Those are cute dresses and the website is a cool one, but they only have up to size 10. Wah! Enjoy them!
OK like Netflix for dresses? How cool is that! LOVE that newsprint dress! (I was a print journalism major in college looooooong time ago.) ;)
You are adorable.
I sit here in Minnesota, gazing out my window on April 12th…..looking at the 6 inches of snow that dumped on us yesterday, and looking forward to the 4 more that we are supposed to get tonight.
Sigh.
I am so jealous of your 87 degrees.
Love dresses, especially with a pair of leggings underneath. Make them a cropped pair and it totally works for Spring.
Netflix for dresses! I’ma die because like Tracy DRESS WHOREISM.
And yeah, the warming of the globe is real, no doubt about it. Have a look at the midwest if you’re still in disbelief.
I’m a dress whore. You’re gorgeous!
I agree, dresses are great! If you get the right one’s you can still do your mom duties & look cute! These are perfect, I’ll have to check them out!
Um, Target. Since landing this mom gig, I’ve rarely bought anything that I can’t climb, crawl, get insanely dirty in. But I wish you lived closer because I would drag you to the stores with me to help me find a “professional” wardrobe. You look great! Those are such cute dresses.
