I Gave Birth This Weekend.

To a new blog!

While you were busy at soccer games and hair appointments and grocery shopping and living your life outside of the Internet all human like, I was sitting on my couch, hunched over my computer all Gollum style (not to be confused with the happier, more care-free and awesome Gangnam style) saying adios to parenting BY dummies!

That’s right amigas (amigos?  Woop-woop if you’re a male reader, or living as one even, which totally counts), pBd has finally died a fiery death.  Along with my shoe fund (blog re-designs are EX-PEN-SIVE, particularly when someone says domain register and you hear konichiwa), the letters T and S on my laptop keyboard (blew them clean off I was working so hard), and a huge chunk of my sanity.

Please don’t leave me too, readers.

Don’t freak, Dude Mom is basically just pBd: the grown and sexy version.

I lie, I’ve just always wanted to say grown and sexy.

Dude Mom is going to be vastly different from pBd.  I mean, I’m still going to write it, and I’ve not gotten a lick smarter, or faster, or younger, or, um anything.  So, you can for surely expect my self deprecating humor, and wicked fashion sense to remain strong.  For life.

But, tons of other things are going to be changing.  For the better, promise.

It’s going to be prettier, and awesomer, and way more organized.  It will end hunger, and bring peace on Earth.  Or, it will just be really good at keeping you entertained (and dressed pretty) while YOU work on all of that save-the-world type stuff you have on your bucket lists.

Plus, I’m doing it for me.  I don’t have little babies anymore.  My youngest son is going to kindergarten nah, I won’t type it because then, maybe it won’t happen.  And, my oldest is going to middle school (slap my face).  Squeaky voice, hair on his junk (soon? Not yet, though, right?), I’m too busy checking out chicks to talk to my mama, M-I-D-D-L-E-S-C-H-O-O-L!

Football, and soccer, and skateboards, and homemade soda rockets (don’t ask), and dirt, and suspicious odors, and girls walking back and forth in front of my house like I can’t see them out there, are what my life is about.

I can’t talk about cloth diapering and potty training boys for the rest of my life.  I mean I could, but, punch-my-throat if I have to.

I want to talk about ME fashion, and fitness, and having big Dude life type fun.

To celebrate my new home, I’ve decided to throw a week long Blog Warming Party!

Sorta just like a house warming party.  Only, instead of me spending a bunch of time getting my place all clean and serving tiny snacks and sips of wine, while you lavish me with gifts, I hired someone to straighten up the place (give it up for Krizzy Designs, best.  Blog designer. EVER.), decided to skip the snacks and drink all of the wine by myself.  And, I’ve turned the gift giving around to you!

And, some ultra cool water bottles by Vapur.  They’ve been to soccer, basketball, soccer, swimming, and back to soccer since they showed up here a week ago.  Kids and parents ask us about them constantly because they are light weight, and they freeze easily, and the spout is perfect for drinking and not all leaky like a lot of the others we’ve tried.

    • I know. And, I’d like to be called Puff now. Although, I’m so old, when I was doing all of this, I was thinking more it was like when Prince became the artist formerly knwon as, and less P.Diddy.

    • Thanks! It’s been a long road. Glad I’m finally at the end of it so I can have a cupcake, and a glass of wine, and sit in my jammie pants on my couch and doze off without feeling guilty.

    • Thanks, Adrian. I had my moments, still do actually. Funny thing is I bought this one a while ago (like many months) because I just wanted to have it. Eventually it came in handy!

  38. Congrats on making a big jump– it would be hard but totally awesome– after having your blog be a certain way for so many years to switch it up but I like it. Very bright and clean look to it now. And interesting with your name in the sidebar instead of a header- I don’t think I have seen any other blog like that.

    • Everyone is welcome! Dude kids in your life or not. And sort of. I only cloth diapered #3 because he had serious diarrhea to the point of causing open sores on his bottom. The cloth diapers were better for him because the junk in the disposables irritated things more.

      • well, my 13yr old is more into golf and computer stuff, so he doesn’t have girls around yet – my daughter is a WHOLE different ballgame. Holy Moley….puberty is gonna be a rollercoaster!!!!

  50. Love the new blog! I have dos dudes – almost 3 yr old twins – and if it wasn’t for your humor and insight my daughter and I would have abandoned this dude village (dude toddlers, dude dog, dude dad) for a sweet-smelling, pink cottage all our own ages ago. Can’t wait to see more!

    • Ahhhh, a pink cottage sounds so clean and quiet. I’d probably go insane with the change.

  51. This is really great! You and Roo have inspired my to do a little redesign and concept of my blog myself. I have been wanting to change it up from just food, and this is just the kick in the pants I needed. Love the new look and know it will be equally as popular.
