Summer is for days at the pool, BBQs, and movies.
We have a huge list of summer movies we are hoping to get to this year and we were fortunate to enough to get a sneak peek of Cars 3 this past week to jump start our summer movie viewing list.
Cars 3: A Disney Pixar Film for the Entire Family
If you have Cars 3 on your list, you should totally make sure you go see it.
Synopsis: Lightening McQueen races back onto screen with his crew from Radiator Springs, but their good vibes are ruined by a set of next-gen speedsters with crazy upgrades who are eager to take his titles and throw them in his face. Lightening, along with a couple of new friends, has to dig deep and figure out a way to win, and it’s going to take a lot more than a little cachow!
If you loved Cars 1, wished Cars 2 was better, and really have high hopes for a part 3, you’re in luck! Disney and Pixar have a hit here and your entire family will enjoy seeing it!
Dude 3 loved it as much as he loved the original. He thought it was funny and exciting and he loved all of the fast cars. Naturally his favorite was, our old standby, Lightening McQueen, but he secretly thought, next-gen racer and proverbial bad guy, Jackson Storm, was pretty cool. To look at. Not to hang out with or anything. He was meaaaaan.
Dudes 1 and 2 were fans too!
Surprisingly, the teenager wanted to watch (he says for nostalgia purposes), but even he found the plot enjoyable and the dialogue funny -he thought the film was great and totally not a waste of time.
Personally, I enjoyed the sentimental elements. I imagined I would sneak in a nap at some point (like I do), but there are some touching moments about Lightening’s time with Doc that really had me feeling something (nooooo, I wasn’t crying, I like, had something in my eye!). I also liked watching Lightening make a connection with the young race trainer, Cruz Ramirez. (Spoiler: Don’t panic, Sally is still bae).
And here’s something cool for those of you who have a serious McQueen fan on your hands…
Cars 3 Disney Shoes
New Balance sent us these sweet Cars 3 Disney shoes to check out and celebrate the movie in!
I’ve never liked buying my kids character shoes -they always look so corny and over the top. I love these because they play a subtle homage to the Cars franchise with the lightening embellishment and stylish flame on the sole, while still being a classic, lightweight sneaker that will stand up to your kid’s busy playtime.
They even come in men’s sizes so you can snag a pair Cars 3 Disney shoes for dad too!
