I feel pretty. Oh so pretty.
I feel pretty and witty and bright.
And innovative, and green, and smart, and good too.
And yes, I am wearing a bullet around my neck. Like a boss.
Why? To fight hunger of course.
But also, because of Causebox by Sevenly.
I recently discovered this funky new brand (and by discovered I mean they emailed me and told me about their awesome and I got super excited and told them I’d tell all of you while also taking credit for being all in the know and junk) and their utterly amazing mission.
Let me break it down for you.
Sevenly is an organization founded on the belief that “people matter”.
The people who created it wanted to encourage a “generation of generosity” and figured doing that would be easier if they partnered with like minded individuals and used the beauty they create to inspire goodness. They sell well made, good stuff in order to raise funds for in need, good people. They team up with charities for a week, encourage people to buy one of their funky, fresh products, and give $7 from each of those purchases to the featured charity.
They’ve raised millions of dollars and changed millions of lives.
Recently, Sevenly launched something new.
It’s called the Causebox.
The Causebox is a quarterly offering (so 4 times a year for the mathletes in the room) of socially conscious products for women. It’s packed beautifully in a box and sold for $49. For each box sold, Sevenly gives 7% to world changing causes (think eradicating hunger, supporting education, creating jobs).
I got a Causebox to check out and, because I loved the things inside so much, I made a video to share with all of you.
Teeny side note: I am generally pretty lame about making videos, and I was so over the top excited about doing this one that I totally forgot to include one of the items. So, my bad Denik. I actually forgot to share the journal you guys sent in the Causebox because I love it so much and I immediately started writing in it. I have like six future blog posts, my Disney packing list, and my editorial calendar all laid out inside of the cool pages you sent me. So, blame my excitement for the oversight as I am totally infatuated with your product.
Before you watch my video and see the awesome in action (and, by awesome I mean the products, because me, I was awkward and sweaty when I filmed, as per usual) here are a few things you need to know about Causebox.
Every Single Thing You Need to Know About Causebox by Sevenly
1. The Causebox is for chicks. Of course, you can buy it and give it to your dad if you want to, but don’t expect him to get amped up about it unless he’s also into chic necklaces and soft hand towels. Way cool if he is, but if not, you might want to send this to your mom (for Mother’s Day! Added bonus, she will love her gifts and be proud of you for your commitment to humanity.) or your sister wife instead.
2. The products inside are worth about $150. Which means, hello bargain, because you can snag it for $49 flat!*
3. It’s not a blood pact. If you order one Causebox and then get canned and can’t afford it again in 3 months, that’s cool. No one is going to report you to the credit bureau over it. You just send them a little note and say, “Hey, Causebox-ers, can’t swing that fifty bucks this time. I’ll see you when I get back to working for The Man.” Then they will skip you this time around and hope you’re in a better, more able to donate, place next time around.
4. The money can go where you want it to. You can choose which charity (from the Sevenly list) will benefit from your purchase. But, if you aren’t super attached to one, they will also just decide for you. Regardless, some one is about to get helped if you buy a box.
5. Every box is different, but also kind of the same. Each quarter the actual products featured in your Causebox will be different. But, the awesome thing is that you can count on them being well made, socially conscious, and cool. Ridiculously cool. You won’t know in advance what will be in the box, but isn’t that surprise part of the fun?! I want to order it for myself just so I can be surprised with a sweet for me gift every three months! And honestly, with my memory, I will literally be shocked it came every single time.
Even if you can’t buy a box at this time, I urge you to pop over to the Sevenly site and learn more about Causebox and some of the changes they’ve inspired. The charities and the stories of success they share are truly amazing and I want all of you to know about the impactful work they’re doing (seriously, Joy Jars, LOVE). I got so distracted looking through the charity websites and reading the stories of change that I burned up an entire batch of cookies! Y’all know I don’t burn cookies!
Now, watch me smile incessantly and talk with my hands about what’s inside of this quarter’s Causebox…
*If you pay for the year it’s $49/box. If you pay quarterly, it’s $54.95.
Disclosure: I received a Causebox to check out to help facilitate this post. I didn’t get any money, or additionally compensation of any sort. There was some insanely delicious honey peanut butter in my Causebox though. Pretty sure that swayed my opinion greatly.
