If I had to choose my favorite holiday season tradition, I would have to say that it’s baking Christmas cookies with my dudes.
No matter the season or time of year, cookies are, hands down, my all time favorite dessert. Throw in a little family time and holiday magic, and it’s no wonder that I love baking Christmas cookies more than any other Christmastime activity.
I may not be much of a cook, but when it comes to baking I am kind of a big deal. It is a past-time I’ve enjoyed since my own childhood and it is one that I have loved sharing with my own kids as well, especially Dude 3. He is my main kitchen sidekick when it’s time to fire up the oven for some baked goodness.
It’s no wonder that, should the NFL superstar quarterback wish not pan out, his dream is to own his own bakery where he can make breads and cakes and donuts and other sweet goodies. He even offered me a job as his future kitchen sidekick already.
In the meantime, he is my little sous chef come holiday time and he’s even started branching out and baking some of our favorite recipes on his own.
His current specialty: super soft oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
I can’t wait to bake through our list this year. You should join us!
