Choosing orthodontics treatment for your tween or teen can be a challenge.
Like every single other parenting thing, there are so many things to consider before you choose to invest -age, cost, doctor, your child’s preference, treatment plan.
Just so many choices!
Invisalign is one of those choices.
People know Invisalign as the clear braces option, but truly it is so much more than that.
As a part of the Invisalign Mom Advisory Board, I had the opportunity to try Invisalign first hand.
I wore Invisalign aligners for about 18 months and I loved so many things about the process. But, I’m adult.
You know, sometimes.
And how it worked for me as a grown up lady, may not be exactly how it works for kids.
We are preparing to enter treatment with Dude 2. He’s a super active 11 year old, and he’s very excited about beginning the process.
If you’re considering Invisalign for your teen or tween, here are some things you might want to keep in mind.
They’re Not Clear Braces! What Parents Should Know About Invisalign Teen
Invisalign Cost Is About The Same As Traditional Braces
Doctors determine the cost of orthodontic treatment, whether you select Invisalign or another form of treatment, based on a variety of factors. Things like your treatment needs, treatment time, your location, and your orthodontist’s own knowledge/comfort using the product will play a role. Generally, treatment cost ranges from $3-$8,000.
Your Insurance Will Probably Cover It
If you have orthodontics coverage via your insurance plan, Invisalign will likely be covered like traditional braces. You should talk to your provider about your options. And, if you have a Flexible Spending Account, you can use it to cover the costs of your Invisalign treatment.
You Can Eat What You Like
Remember in high school when you got your metal braces and you have to give up popcorn and corn nuts and bubble gum and tortilla chips? Invisalign is not about that life. You remove your aligners to eat so you can enjoy whichever foods you like without worry. And, as a mom, you don’t have to worry about taking your child to the orthodontist to replace the brackets they break off when they violate their food bans!
You Can Care for Your Teeth
Dental hygiene is one of the primary struggles facing braces wearers, especially kids. It’s hard to brush and floss around brackets and wires and we all know kids aren’t awesome at doing things that are hard -particularly when they don’t understand the consequences fully. Invisalign allows your child to continue to brush and floss his teeth without struggle. You just pop those aligners out, brush, floss, and live life.
You Can Win A FREE Treatment
Invisalign is giving away a free treatment to one lucky family! You or your child can win the opportunity to enjoy a bright, new smile courtesy of Invisalign. Your dream of having easy to manage, clear braces could come true! It’s super easy to enter and winning would be pretty amazing.
