I remember teasing my mom relentlessly when I was in high school about her affinity for blazers.
She had many and they had shoulder pads and, “Ew, Mom, gross. Like only perfumed old ladies wear blazers and shoulder pads. You look like Oprah.” (Back when looking like Oprah didn’t mean you looked like a billionaire boss lady).
I guess I am officially old because…
A blazer! Perfect way to round out your spring outfits.
I love how they round out an outfit. I love how they can make me look more business-y without entirely changing my look. I love how I can still rock a mostly casual outfit and then throw on a blazer and look all intentional and put together and smart.
Not smart like I know all the things (I do, of course), smart like I’m sensibly dressed and ready to do something amazing. And you have to listen to me because I have something that looks like a suit jacket on. Totally distracts you from my holey jeans and my open toed spark shoes.

I snagged this light weight summer one from Marshall’s a couple of weeks ago and it has come in handy thanks to the winter-that-won’t-die keeping temps down.
You can snag a similar one here: Navy blue cotton blazer.
Or go for a whole different look…
Now, off to hug my mom and tell her I take back all of the silly teenager words I spewed at her in my youth.
Except for the shoulder pads part. That part is still true.
Nice blazer and bracelet. As a teenager, I had special affinity for blazers. I had a couple of them n my college years and to be true, they make me feel like an entrepreneur or a very busy working woman….lol.
Now that I am into a job, blazers make more sense to me. They are an integral part of my office ensemble. They go with almost every outfit in my wardrobe. And with just a bracelet and a pair of diamond earrings, I can add zest to my everyday style.
Totally cute, not overdressed like I thought it would be! Thanks!
