I know, when you think Dude Mom, I am probably the twelfth first mama to come to mind.
Probably it’s my never ending stories of boys peeing in public and embarrassing me with their loud voices and never ending antics upping the awesome of life, or my plethora of photos depicting these and other Dude like occasions…
All of this nutty aside, let me just remind you of the glamour of being a Dude Mom…
Okay, that wasn’t very convincing.
How about this…
Because, above pretty much everything on the planet that doesn’t have wheels, shoot bullets, fly, punch, kick, wear a mask, or make unexpected fart sounds, Dudes love their mamas. So, so hard.
And that alone makes me want to shout my proud-to-be-a-Dude-Mom declarations from a roof top somewhere.
Or, since me on the top of pretty much anything is a recipe for disaster, maybe just by co-hosting a chat on the Motherhood. Because I can work the Internet without danger or threat of injury.
So, myself and a number of other Dude Moms will be joining Shell (the famous mama blogger at Things I Can’t Say) for a Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails: Raising Boys chat tomorrow (Tuesday, 7/10) at 1pm.
And I want all of my Dude Mama posse to join us. We can talk about smelly boys, and being awesome, and how, one night, your kid came crying to you about how he put the life-like metal handcuffs on his ankle, locked it, and then broke the key, leaving you sitting on the couch, sweating your balls off trying to get the cuff off with a pairing knife and a bucket of Vaseline while trying not to dismember your baby.
Been there? Clearly, you’re not alone.
P.S. Have you been added to the Dude Mom Lifers list yet? If you’re a mama to all boys, leave a comment and a link to your site so I can add you to our ever growing list!
It’s really not easy to raise boys specially when they go out of control at times. But there’s more on the bonding moments of raising all boys. I can see you’re an awesome mom with those Ironman mask. Great pictures.
Love the photos. Love the list. Add me! I am a proud Dude Mom!
I love this post and laughed right out loud at the handcuff story. It brought about a vivid flashback to a chubby baby arm stuck inside of the playschool busy ball popper.
I’m a dude mom as well…please add me to the lifer list, lady!

Boys do love their mommas that is for sure.
My dude keeps me in awe of his mind and the things it is thinking about. Right now it has lots of microorganisms.
I love being a dude mom. LOVE.
Wish I could join you on the chat, but it’s the middle of the night for me. :(
Love my little dudes!! My 3 yo today tokd me his poop smells like ketchup! Ah from the mouth of boys! Would love to join your chat but will be on a beach instead. Vacation with the dudes is the best (except when they are trying to tear each others limbs off, ya know.).
Love these pictures. Being a dude mom is so awesome, I agree. My little dude speaks Baby still – not much English yet – but I can’t wait til my boy can give me even bigger hugs and tell me he loves me like I know he does. Thanks for the reminder of that hard, messy love. So true.

Gotta love being a boy mama!
Well, I am a mom to mostly dudes… this sounds like a fun chat. I think I will join you.
That first picture in the last set? #3’s skeptical eyes totally cracked me up.
Great photos.
Went back and looked. HIlarious.
Yeah, I could pick up the wisdom of those who’ve gone before.

Oops…I’m not a mom to all boys…just a boy. Didn’t read the fine print.
