I don’t really like throwing parties.
So. Much. Pressure.
I blame Pinterest.
I love it as much as the next mom, but I feel like you can’t just invite people over, order a pizza, and serve them wine from a box anymore because the possibilities have been illuminated.
Now you have to have pretty, handmade decorations, and intricate snackage, and a photo booth, and goodie bags, and glitter, and just so many things.
I can’t make that kind of awesome come together. I’m not creative enough. I’m not organized enough. I’m not even motivated enough. And I’d rather spend my loose cash on shoes.
But, that doesn’t mean I don’t like getting together with friends, or meeting new friends, or eating good food and having good conversation with people I like.
Throw in a good cause and a tasty, chic restaurant, where all I have to do is show up and order something and you can count me in!
This week I organized a Maryland blogger meet-up. We’ve been talking about having one for weeks, months even, and I thought it was the perfect chance to get everyone together and share the mission of the March of Dimes #imbornto campaign.
It was great to catch up with friends and share some of the amazing brand supporters with them.
Two lucky women went home with Alex and Ani bracelets and these adorable little Mudpie baby socks (allllmost cute enough to make me go back into the baby production business. Almost.).
I joined the March of Dimes as one of 39 mothers helping to spread awareness about their #imbornto campaign to raise money to support the work they do to help all women achieve 39 weeks of healthy pregnancy and healthy, full term babies.
It’s one of those things that felt right because this organization has touched nearly every pregnant woman and newborn baby born in America in the last 75 years. The work they do helps all moms have healthy pregnancies. They fund research to help prevent premature births. They offer comfort, support, and information to families who’ve experienced the birth of a premature baby. And they are all about life.
The March of Dimes believes that each and every baby born is born to do something. Something groundbreaking, something amazing, something significant, something special.
Not sure what your something special is yet (I know I’m still working mine out!)? Start by helping the March of Dimes!
3 Easy Ways You Can Support the Mission of the March of Dimes
1. March to help babies. Sign up for a walk in your area. You can join a team or start a team to raise cash. These events raise so many funds and they are truly a fun way to spend and active afternoon with family and friends.
2. Shop. Between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day retail partners of the March of Dimes offers shoppers the opportunity to support the organization with their purchases. Visit imbornto.com to see all of the offers available. The cool thing is that you save while they earn. Can’t really beat that!
3. Share. Join Martha Stewart’s #THX2U movement. For every baby pic shared (pic can be you, your baby, a baby you know and love) with the hashtag #THX2U Martha will donate $10 (up to $350k) to the March of Dimes. You know you love to share pics of dem babies, hashtag away!
Disclosure: I am a member of The Motherhood’s #MODSquad and have been compensated for my participation in this campaign. All opinions and lack of party hosting creativity are my own. I’m comfortable admitting that.
