So those of us hitting the blog conference circuit hardcore this year are well aware that BlogHer’11 is just a couple of short weeks away.
Even if you’re not going, you know when it is because you stalk the hashtag on Twitter wish you were going, or thought about going, or tried to go and for some reason couldn’t.
I know.
I’ve been there.
Every single year up to this one.
I’ve been at home BlogHer hashtag-hatin’ every single summer since 2008.
Sitting poolside with The Dudes as they tried to drown each other fought over who was gonna get the last pack of melty Keebler cookies.
Wishing I was not baking by the pool and instead watching Justin Timberlake perform live connecting with like minded women in a positive and inspiring environment.
Yeah, I know. I feel your pain.
Not that sitting poolside while your kids fight over hot snacks isn’t fun. It totally is.
It’s just sometimes, you want to take a minute and refocus.
So I’m in this year and I’m so super excited about the experience!
And the learning.
And the connecting.
And the fashion!
Yes, ladies bust out the finery for the big event!
Naturally this Dumb Mom intends to be hardcore stylin’!
Well, the Mom Awesome version.
I know it’s not required.
And I know people will love you anyway because your awesome personality will shine through whether you’re sporting your Birkenstocks or your Manolos.
I know.
But why not wear the knock-off Manolos?
Why not take your one kid free weekend in who knows how long and glam it up a bit?!
This is your chance!
Your chance to wear that silky, dry-clean-only, shirt that the kids would ruin with their snotty noses and their sticky elbows. Your chance to bust out the awesome and have a little fun!
That’s my take on the whole thing.
So yeah, I’m gonna blow it up a little bit.
In addition to all of the cuteness I’ve been stocking up on from the shoe department, I recently got this little number from BCX (part of Byer California)…
I. Freakin. LOVE it!
Seriously one of my favorite pieces because the fit is great (accentuates my smallest part and minimizes all the big ones), it’s comfortable and soft (something silky it’s made out of!), and the print is interesting and fun.
It’s easy to dress up or down.
And, it’s affordable (like under $40)! And easy to find too (Kohls and Macy’s both carry the brand and/or other members of the Byer brand family)!
Got me excited to make a little set!
The BCX Clothing Is Cute, Comfy, And Not So Expensive You Won’t Be Able to Eat While You’re At BlogHer or Anywhere Else Set…
Have a versatile piece in your closet? Something that you wear when you want to glam it up a bit? I’d love to hear about it!
pBd Admits It’s Free: sometimes people send me stuff to try out and tell y’all about. This is one of those times. They don’t tell me what to say, they don’t tell me to like it, and they don’t tell me I even have to tell y’all about it unless I want to. You know I’d tell them to step off if they did!

Love it! I might have to take myself to Kohl’s before BlogHer (so, um, soon) and check out the cute stuff.
And I’ll see you in San Diego!

I love the top. Great colors. I have a super cute ruffle shirt with a print design in purple, magenta, and mint green (sounds like a lot but its really cute), I can wear it with jeans and flats or glam it up with a pencil skirt and pumps. I love items that you can dress up or down, you really get your money’s worth that way.

That top is super cute!!! I think it could even hide all of my um, not so fabulous areas. xo

That top is REALLY cute. Great outfit! :-)
Allie says
You look fab, you model, you! Have fun at the conference.
Jennifer says
That top is super cute. I have one that is kind sorta similar, but not exactly. I’m not sure when I’m going to wear it though. Maybe on the flight up or the one back or I don’t know. I feel like I need a wardrobe schedule.

I wanna go to BlogHer!!! But, like you in previous years, I’ll be sitting here at home in front of my screen, silently envious about everyone who’s #havinganawesometimeatBlogHer.
*sigh*
I love all your cute outfits. I have NO eye for fashion whatsoever. I have found myself taking detailed notes on your Polyvore sets – ADORE THEM! When you have no talent at assembling an outfit, just copy off someone else, right? :)

Super cute. I like that the arm holes seem big enough for even my fatty mcfatty arms.
Dumb Mom says
Amen, sister. That is my one beef with H&M clothing! The arm holes. It’s like, if I’m a size 12 top why do they think my arms are a size 4?! Baffling!
Christina Simon says
That top looks fabulous on you. I was going to go to BlogHer but decided not to, even though I live in L.A. I’ll read up on it here!
Dumb Mom says
Booo. You should go! I can sell you a parties only pass. My friend can’t go and she has one!
Chasing Joy says
Very cute outfit. I am considering going to my 1st blog conference in the fall. Beblogolicious. I am nervous about it but at least now I know what kind of cuteness I need to wear :-)
I really enjoy your blog and have awarded you the Versatile Blogger Award. Please stop by and pick up your award button. I hope you’ll also grab my button and Chase Joy with me. http://www.chasing-joy.com/2011/07/feel-good-friday-versatile-blogger.html
Dumb Mom says
Thanks for the award! I am always so excited when I get one of those!
And I’ve been to Blogalicious! Very informative. Probably gonna go this year too since it’s in my hometown and all of my local blog buds will be there! You’ll love it and we’ll have to meet up!
Chasing Joy says
Since you are going I definately have to go. Would love to meet you and maybe discuss those boudior pics that I’m still not quite brave enough to take. Getting there though. :-)
Cynthia says
Nice! You’re so cool. Really, you’ve been inspiring me since I read your “Making the Most of Blog Conferences” post back in May. I’m IN. I can hardly believe that I actually get to go to BlogHer ’11. I think I’d be kicking myself if I didn’t since it’s in my hometown this year! Anyway – thank you for inspiring!
Dumb Mom says
Awww. Thanks, Cynthia! You’ll have to look for me at BlogHer! I’ll be the one in super cute shoes sweating like a pig. What? It’s my natural response to new situations. I’ll shower. I promise not to stink:)
Elaine says
Can’t wait to see all those sassy shoes in less than two weeks. Love that top!
Dumb Mom says
Me too! There are so many people I’m excited to meet at BlogHer! I hope I don’t miss anyone!
