I love wearing my Crocs.
They are the fur lined kind that are all soft and comfy inside.
They are worn in just perfectly so they sorta fit my feet like hideously-unfashionable-but-insanely-comfortable foot gloves.
Ahhhh, happiness.
I wear them every chance I get.
When I am at home. With no plans of any sort to be seen by any human not birthed from my loins or bound to me by law.
Because, no, Crocs for people who aren’t gainfully employed at a medical facility are not even remotely considered a fashionable accessory.
I know that. You know that. And everyone else knows it too even if they don’t want to admit it.
So, my going out of the house shoes are WAY less, um, ugly frumpy.
And, if I’m honest, I wear heels a lot.
Currently, these are my favorite pair of heels (I snagged them at grown-up-shoe-loving-girl’s version of Disneyland: DSW)…
They are surprisingly comfortable. And obviously adorable. From every angle…
I wear them all kinds of different places to feel like a lady; the grocery store, Target, preschool pick up, sometimes even my basement.
Clearly I live a boring life that does not frequently require heels. Or shoes of any sort really. I mean technically I could go barefoot through the majority of my life.
But, what fun is that?!
Don’t get me wrong, I am not a daily heels wearer. My feet are too wide, too old, and entirely too sensible to commit to that.
Even my comfiest pair of heels don’t compete with most of my flatter, comfier options for hitting up the park with the preschooler (although I will admit I have been known to make a park appearance in stylish wedge-y looking heels just for funsies!).
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a bazillion times: flat does not have to mean frumpy. Or flip floppy. Or Croc-y. Definitely not Croc-y.
It can easily mean fabulous! See…

See that, friends? No wedges, no pumps, no stilettos, and not a Croc or and Old Navy flip flop in sight (although lemme just tell you, there is a time and a place for each, just that time is NOT always and that place is NOT everywhere)!
Only you can prevent forest fires started by shoe lovers who care trying to help you by burning your ugly footwear!
I have never even tried on crocs but maybe I should for house shoes. I wear ugly blue isotonic slippers around the house and they are falling apart. Time for an upgrade. Love the wedges! I have the hardest time finding shoes for my tiny size 5 1/2 foot but thankfully target now carries my size!!! I was super excited to discover that a few weeks ago but my Target bill not so much. I got a pair of big girl shoes (wedge sandals) but have only had a chance to wear them once so far. Ouch my feet hurt! Is it possible to find hees that are comfortable? I have yet to discover that yet and refuse for my feet to be in pain while walking.
It seems like the older I get the less I can wear heels, which makes me really sad because those wedges are fab.
Oooo those are super cute! I love shoes. I don’t care what they are, I just love shoes. I do like to wear heals, although I must confess I’m feet, legs, and back hurt more at the end of the day when I wear them. It’s all about looking good sometimes it’s worth the pain :) I’m so glad to see that cute flats are becoming more popular.
When I first started reading and you mentioned how much you loved your Crocs, I was a bit worried. They truly are the ugliest shoe ever- but then I read on about how you never leave your house in them, and I breathed a sigh of relief. I wear my Birkenstocks around the house every day- I LOVE them for their comfort- but like you, know it’s not something to wear out in public. Too ugly!
Those heels from DSW are gorgeous! I might need to make a little trip down to DSW!
Thanks!
My feet are entirely to old for any shoes. I keep defaulting to this filthy pair of Danskos. But I did get some nude patent peep toe pumps for Easter. Next up? Royal blue flats, of course.
Per usual, you inspire me to greater heights with my fashion–seriously. I appreciate it, though I think my stretchy black “mom pants” are going to be feeling an abandoned sting if I ever get my crap together and give them the boot :)
But I love my Old Navy flip floppies! I cannot give them up. I definitely need new flats though. I must not be daring enough in my flat shoes because all I’ve ever bought are simple black flats. I wear plenty of strappy heels however.
I love shoes… all kinds of them and have tons of them.
Here’s my confession…. I have Croc flip flops and they are the most comfortable things I have ever worn. And if I could I would wear them all the time.
I LOVE FLATS! Love all the ones you posted. And your wedges are gorgeous. Wedges are the modern mommie’s pumps. I swear I wore stilettos everyday of my first pregnancy. And then I smartened up :) Flatabulous picks!
You got me. I have two pairs of crocs. The standard bright green froggy foot croc, and the more fashionable orange Mary Jane crocs. Unfortunately when running late I forget I am wearing them, and enjoyed attending Youngest’s Piano recital in my lovely Mary Janes. Not my best fashion day.

I love it! Great shoes. So funny how you said you wear them in the basement sometimes. I’ll put a dress on sometimes just to remind myself that I can look nice if I so choose. I’ll also break out the “fancy shoes” as my kids say. Love that yours have made an appearance at the park. ;-)

LOVE every pair of shoes you posted! Alas, I too have feet that would not be happy with me if I wore heels on a regular basis. I believe with all my heart wedges are the PERFECT shoe! One thought on flats…I LOVE them almost as much as wedges but unless you splurge for the VERY nice styles that have a good arch and such, these can cause foot/back pain plus add to heel spurs…ask me how I know :0)? So what I have found to be very helpful are gel inserts! They cost anywhere from $4-$40 depending on the brand. I paid about $12 for mine and they work quite nicely! I brought my go to flats with me to make sure they would fit. Some flats have a lower “side” so they may not work. Just yesterday I was in Marshall’s and Burlington–2 AMAZING shoe resources–and I found adorable DKNY shoe/flip-flop! They have about a 2 1/2 inch not too frumpy/dated/too young platform, patent leather strap PLUS a wide band that keeps them less “flip-floppy”! PLUS a great pair of black flats both for less than half the original price. The toes are painted my fav bright red…spring can NOW arrive! LOVE your blog. So glad I “found” it!
Those are cute! I’m really into flats or shoes with a low heel because my stupid body has one leg longer than the other and wearing heels jacks up my back and hips. It doesn’t help that I refuse to wear anything (cute or not) that isn’t comfortable.
I LOVE these. These big fat Momfeet of mine are having trouble finding shoes that are stylish and sensible in the same sentance…and in my size to boot (pun intended). Now, I think I need to go shoe shopping.
Happy Friday!
I loves me a wedge and those are very cute! I wear heels every day (I have a closet full of heels and ONE pair of flats (they’re pretty much for going to and from work if I don’t feel like wearing the heel all day)). In fact, it’s the flats that make me feel off-kilter! Plus, my feet are extremely narrow so usually flats just flop off the back of my feet even when I buy $12 Isotoner shoe inserts and sole helpers for the back to grip my heel and make it stay in place. Nope. If they aren’t flopping off the back, they’re gapping at the sides b/c they’re too wide. Slip ons hate me and I can’t do most flip flops either. The between the toe part has got to be fabric and soft. Otherwise, I can’t walk. My between-toe-skin is overly sensitive.
And can I just say that most kids shoe places no longer sell narrows? All of my kids have narrow feet and I’m tired of searching and coming up empty. Even Stride Rite stopped!
LOVE this, you!
I’ve just recently discovered the wonders of flats.
They’re fabulous. FABULOUS!
I love your wedges! It’s my favorite kind of footwear ever, though I haven’t had the chance to wear it since January this year. Didn’t want to topple over you see :)
Love your suggestions – pretty flats are a must in every woman’s shoe closet.
I wear heels almost all the time. Not super high stilettos, but just something with some kind of heel. I have the occasional flat sandal for things like the beach or a store run. I am not comfortable in flats. They seem to always hurt my feet no matter what. I love your outfit ideas and how you paired everything up!
Stopping by from blogger comment club…Nice meeting you!
Yes, Trianna; I get this! That’s how I feel lin flats, like I’ve worn heels so long my arch is saying what kind of shenanigan is this?
