Big day in the monarchs-who-are-somehow-also-celebrities world.
And, in honor of the royal occasion, Dumb Mom is jumping on the blogging-about-things-that-don’t-really-matter bandwagon, and talking about the royal wedding!
Well, not the royal wedding exactly since no way in England am I getting up at the butt crack of dawn to watch a $30 million wedding!*
Seriously?
Because my wedding to Dumb Dad cost less than 5 grand. And I’m just as married to my prince as Kate will be to hers.
I can’t even imagine the things I could do with $30 million dollars.
Well, I can imagine, but only just, and I can ensure you that a wedding would NOT be on my shopping list!
So, instead of discussing the lavish affair itself, let’s instead focus on the cuteness that is Kate Middleton.
Because if there is one thing that’s not common about that girl, it’s her $600 cocktail dresses and her fascinators?! (Go ahead and Google it like I did, but that’s what they call those fancy feathered mini hats she likes to sport around town).
For a single girl in the city, she has a very sophisticated and classy look that even former-princess-wannabe-mamas like me can appreciate.
And emulate.
With a budget in mind of course!
Dumb Mom’s Look Like a Princess Feel Like a Princess Mom look…
princess wear by dumbmom featuring ruffle tops
Floral prints, leather, and a great pair of jeans belong in every princess’s closet! And, a much more pricey version can be found in Kate’s for sure.
I love this look because it’s as easy to don as sweats and a hoodie, so no excuses, ladies, this is Mom Awesome made easy!
And affordable too!
Not really interested in pulling off the princess look yourself, but have a less than royal wedding of your own to attend this summer?
I say, buy a sexy pair of heels and a dress, or FIVE, to match.

What do you own that makes you feel like you’re letting your inner princess out?!
And, be sure to pop back in late Friday for a What’s in YOUR Closet post too!
*Although, since I will be helping to celebrate and promote an American bridal tradition, the annual Running of the Brides event, in the wee hours of Friday morning at Filene’s Basement, I guess I could tune in. Briefly. But, only just.
I needed to find a dress for my cousin’s wedding and I am SO going to modcloth to look around. Thanks for the tip!
You know. I like all the stuff you pick on fashion Fridays.
I love all the outfits you linked too!! how fun. I did love her wedding dress… but the money they spent was ridiculous.. then again, their royalty. It be nice if for once they’d invest that into some charity instead…
Hey, I followed you here from Maggie’s blog. As soon as I saw the link and title, I knew I would feel comfortable here :).
Great post!! I love all things personal style. Those dresses all look great, though I would love them more if they were maxis. That’s my princess-feeling look: the maxi!
I am up early for peace and quiet before my girls roll out at six for royal falderal.
Next week, will you explain how to shop for jeans online?
