After months of never ending snow and freezing weather like only people cursed by a singing, magical princess in a far off ice castle could understand, yesterday’s temps hit 80 degrees in my neck of the woods!
Shave your legs, bust out the nail polish, and leave your coats at home!
I got to enjoy the sidelines of baseball and soccer for the first time all season where I was pleased to work up a very unladylike sweat doing nothing more than sitting in my chair while cheering my children in their athletic exploits.
It was perfect.
Particularly because I followed up my sweaty spectating with a shopping trip: Hello winningest day in forever, I missed you!
I spent 12 minutes in Charlotte Russe making sure their brand of leggings weren’t fit to be worn as pants when you’re over 21 (they’re not, never do it, it will be disastrous), and then I sped over to Kohl’s to check out the newly released Peter Som for Kohl’s collection.
Please remind me why I wanted leggings in my life?
I tried on the striped jumper I gave away after I previewed the collection earlier this season (me + jumpers = are you kidding me right now, stop it) and a couple of dresses, but my heart is just so in love with these harem pants that are kinda hot right now…
And I mean hot as in hey good lookin’, not hot as in my thighs are sticking together when I walk. Nothing good lookin’ about that.
I love that these pants look put together and chic, but then feel like satiny sweat pants. Added bonus, they feel just as comfortable as regular sweat pants. I can be the on-the-go, dressed like a human mom I need to be while maintaining plenty of I-will-chase-you-if-you-run freedom so my kids don’t get any ideas.
And they’re so versatile…
Wear them with heels or flats or a sparkly top or a denim vest. So many options. I love options.
In other news, I’m hiring!
Needed: Personal photographer
Qualifications: Ability to hold a camera still and focus on the subject (me) in the photo and not surrounding objects (like the wall behind me). Must be within reasonable driving distance to my home and able to take many photos without complaining that you have to take too many photos. You should be encouraging and supportive with an upbeat personality. Sighing while taking photos, asking me repeatedly if we’re done yet, and questioning my posing, expression, and/or outfit choice will not be tolerated. If at any point you snap a photo of me wherein, thanks to your actions, inactions, sounds, comments, or rolling eyes…
you will be released without warning. I already have a photographer (or two) capable of this quality of work, I don’t need another.
Compensation: Money? No, I don’t have any money. I pay in cupcakes and smiles.
Not interested? Fine, how about a giveaway?!
