Every time I visit my parents in West Virginia my mom and I go to the store-that-shall-not-be-named.
Not one to burn bridges that have yet to even be erected, I’ve decided to not name said store and just describe it to you as a massive clothing warehouse packed to bursting with cheapish items you probably don’t want and definitely don’t need. Think TJ Maxx variety at not-quite Walmart quality, and maybe second hand store pricing.
You can buy clothing and housewares and handbags and various random as seen on TV type items. The line is always long. The patrons are kinda sketchy. And, the customer service is virtually nonexistent.
But the one thing that keeps me going back time and time again is the shoes.
Seriously, most remarkable and unique footwear I’ve seen ever (and, by remarkable and unique I mostly mean crazy pants nutty insane).
I’ve decided to chronicle my finds every week in 2015. I figure it’s a fun activity that my mom and I enjoy doing together (she hunts them down and takes the pics while I dance around the store in her finds), and some of our finds are so spectacular I feel like it’s my duty to share them with all of you.
Starting with something exciting for New Year’s eve…
I chose these to feature first because, ummmm, I plan to be sharper in 2015? And fiercer. Way fiercer.
Despite their $14.99 price tag however, I decided not to get these because I’m not an exotic dancer we don’t really go out for New Year’s Eve.
It’s labor intensive and cost prohibitive
Seriously, you try getting a babysitter for 3 kids, buying a fly dress, banging shoes, tickets to an event, drinks, gas, and food for my belly and see if you’re not too exhausted and broke to even bother.
We usually just celebrate with local friends while our children run like wild things around the neighborhood.
We are classy I tell you. Classy! See shoes in above photo for proof!
Which is why, even though I’m not one to really excel at planning and then pulling off a New Year’s Eve event, I am sort of amazing at finding sweet gear to wear if I were going to do all of that.
Because I can do it on my couch. In my jammies. With cookies for fuel (don’t judge me, I am starting a new weight loss plan in 2014 and you’re going to join me).
If you are hitting the town this New Year’s Eve (or anytime in the near future), I urge you to check out some of these sweet deals…

Oh, my god… those shoes… are just. WOW. Lol, well, I bet you could kick some serious you-know-what while wearing them! :) I kind of have this meh towards NYE attitude and I don’t even have kids (but I’m in my mid-30s so maybe it’s just a case of been there/done that/too damn cold to drag my a** out of the apartment to stand in a crowded bar and fight for a drink). <Hey-o! I sound like a dinosaur. LOL, hope you have a very happy and healthy New Year!
We are going to a thing. After literally decades of being in bed by the time the weather comes on, we are now partiers. Apparently, there is wardrobe. Thanks for pointing me in some direction.
