As 2015 comes to a close, I will celebrate my seventh year of blogging.
Seven years on a blog I started on a whim –no basic goals, no grand plan, no nothing. Just a free platform and a catchy url.
At the time I was the mom to a baby, a toddler, and a kindergartener. I was working nights at the hospital as a secretary. I spent all day exhausted, disheveled and lonely and bored. Not lonely and bored in the traditional sense, more lonely and bored in the I-went-to-grad-school-to-clean-and-wipe-butts-all-day sense. Lonely and bored in the I-had-dreams-and-I-miss-using-my-brain sense. Lonely and bored in the best-part-of-this-day-is-bedtime-so-I-can-do-something-grown-up-like-shower-and-eat-with-both-hands-and-watch-the-Housewives sense.
It wasn’t what I envisioned for my life as a mom.
Starting the blog and getting back into using my brain to create brought me out of my rut.
I started connecting with other women, and sharing my stories, and growing my audience, and before I knew it, my blog became something that truly meant something to other people. And more importantly, to me.
And now, I know all of the things!
