Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!
Yeah, no, me neither.
It’s not even close to football season, but it is NFL Draft season. You know, nearly.
Which is part of the reason I spent my weekend at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
YES! That is John Elway and Merril Hoge.
Three things I learned at the Combine:
1. I couldn’t run a 40 in 4 point anything seconds. I’m certain I could knock it out in 40 seconds though. Which counts. Totally. Don’t worry, I didn’t bother to try, because I wasn’t dressed for it and I didn’t want to like make them feel bad about their times promised my children not to embarrass them.
2. I wish all football stadiums were inside. I’d probably go to more football games if they were. There are few things I want to see or do when sitting in the rain or snow or temperatures in the general range of freezing. The NFL could be bringing in SO much more bank if they went ahead and put tops on those things.
3. I am old. As I sat in those stands watching those boys work their big hearts out to achieve this thing they’ve dreamed of since they were like the little Dudes I left behind to be in that stadium, I nearly cried at least six times. When they slipped and fell, or didn’t catch a pass, or did catch a pass, all I could think of is how I would feel if that was my Dude out there. Only old ladies cry over crap like that.
Anyway, it was awesome to be there and I know that the work I am doing now with the NFL and Heads Up Football is making a difference in the lives of boys who will one day be running these drills with hopes of making dreams come true on this field, while random mothers sit in the stands and cry silently on behalf of their mothers who couldn’t be with them on that day.
In other news, this happened…
Those who know me also know that while I may not enjoy being in the outdoor elements explicitly, I often spend my summer months doing all manner of adventurous outdoors-y activities for the sake of The Dudes and their personal betterment. I love that the clothing at Aventura will allow me to do that, comfortably and stylishly.
If there’s one thing I care about when it comes to style it’s functional fashion.
The items I’ve received so far are like clouds. No joke, I made DudeDad walk all the way upstairs and rub them when I pulled them out of the box.
He blinked and stared and went back down to the basement to play his Playstation.
But that’s because he don’t know what’s up. And, he appreciates very little when it comes to women’s clothing (I mean that in every way you can imagine).
Let me just tell you though, organic clothing is from another planet, people. A soft, smog free, open air planet where little pudgy people with super soft hands pick cotton and weave it into clothing with their lips. Or something.
I plan to show you all of my outfits when Mother Nature stops being a jerk (seriously there are still snow piles in my yard, and I just can’t), but until then feel free to peruse the site and let me know if you want a SIXTY percent off coupon. Because, that I can manage, even in a snow storm.
Here’s what I think you should put on your list for spring (with my code, nothing here will set you back more than $41!):
