The holiday season is here.
I thought I’d be done gift shopping by now. I wanted to finish up early so I can go back to preparing for this baby. I’ve met a lot of people recently who felt the need to tell me about their first babies coming early so of course I’m sure this will happen to me. As far as holiday shopping I’ve taken the how-about-we-skip-the-gifts-this-year approach. Most people I’ve suggested this to scoffed at the idea. So if we’re going to do this, let’s do it right. Here are five gifts to make the expectant mama happy.

A cleaning service. There’s still so much to do around the house. I’m not a person who spends hours on having a spotless house and it really never bothered me until now. Why is it so damn dusty around here? I would kiss the person who could make it all go away without me having to lift a finger.
The Levana Keera video baby monitor. I’ve been doing a lot of research to find the perfect monitor. I’d like one with night-vision, a decent sized monitor so I can actually see what’s going on without having to put my glasses on, the ability to zoom, pan and tilt the camera, and to be able to add additional cameras for any future kids we may have. I was super excited to find the Levana Keera, which comes with two cameras. Not only does it feature all the functions I was looking for but also allows you to record video, photos, and play lullabies and talk to baby through it. Awesome!
A family photo session. I’m not the best at taking photos and when I do I don’t do anything with them. It’s kind of embarrassing to have to hand over your phone or pull out your laptop to show family and friends photos. The only time I take the time to order prints or photo gifts is when I’ve had professional photos taken. Any expectant parent would love a prepaid photo session of their new family. They may be too overwhelmed to plan ahead which will make you a lifesaver.
Freshly Picked Moccasins. I’m not going to buy my baby $60 shoes but I so want him to have $60 shoes! They’re just so cute. They’re easy to put on and take off because of their elastic opening but they also stay on baby’s foot. And of course super cute!
Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit. I’ve heard this thing is truly magic and I will try anything that may make the dude baby sleep. Of course I still have my fingers crossed that he will be a good sleeper all on his own but you can never be too prepared with a bag of tricks if he needs help.
A Moby Wrap. Baby carrying is something I’m interested in trying and this is one other moms recommend (including DudeMom herself).
Chewbeads. For moms who wanna look chic while their baby is gnawing on them.
A restaurant delivery service. GrubHub is a good option available in a lot of metro areas.
Free babysitting. Provided by you if you think you can handle it.
A Zookaboo diaper cover. They just make baby bums looks so adorable.
