Those of you that like to keep up with my antics on Instagram and Facebook know that I spent last weekend hanging about the city that never sleeps with thousands of other lady bloggers at BlogHer 15.
I got to hang with friends (top photo from I’m Not the Nanny)…
Take a selfie at YouTube Space NYC while actually visiting the YouTube Space…
Make a lifelong dream come true (BoyzIIMen sang to me, and technically a bunch of other women, but mostly just me)…
And see many parts of the city…
I had a great experience and got so much out of my three day trip, including seriously sore feet!
To me, New York is like Disney –a true test of your shoe game. I can wear a pair of shoes all I want at home without much issue, but take that same pair of seemingly comfortable shoes to New York or Disney and, for lack of a better explanation, SH*T gets real!
I spent so many evenings staring longingly at my roomie’s comfy looking cute flats.
I wore my floral sneakers home and, due to all of the trauma, spent a full day barefoot and bruised, limping around my house.
And then, in a bout of never-ever-again determination, I went to Marshall’s (their Summer Clearance is going on now!) to snag some flats I could wear this week while my dogs healed.
I found these Rampage ballet flats for $14 in store…
They aren’t my cutest pair of kicks, and when it comes to like shoe ergonomics and all of that, they’ve got none, but they get the job done without hurting anybody.
All I can ask at this point.
I found some other pairs to add to my closet for my next walking filled getaway…
1. Toms • $40.46 • 2. Lucky Brand • $26.97 • 3. Jessica Simpson • $29.98 • 4. Madden-Girl • $49.95 • 5. Kenneth Cole Reaction • $34.99 • 6. BP • $39.90 • 7. Topshop • $45 • 8. Kimchi & Blue • $29
I am always on the hunt for a good flat. I live in NYC as wel and I know how brutal all that walking can be on your tootsies
Someday, oh someday, I hope to attend a BlogHer event. Looks like you had a good time….minus the aching feet part.
you’re hilarious! I do all of the “frumpy” things you say not to, and that just cracked me up. Love your blog :)
