I love Netflix.
And, for those of you skeptics, I’m not just saying that because I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team (aka a group of bloggers who work as Netflix ambassadors). I am saying that is why I decided to join the Stream Team in the first place.
Because there was a time, in sort of distant history, when I wasn’t all Team Netflix.
I complained often to DudeDad about my ability to find things I wanted to watch on the service while he sat in the basement and sucked up all of the documentaries and original shows he could find.
Eventually, Netflix and I both had a moment and I realized that they were really the only way I could even watch things like Orange is the New Black and Master of None and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and I could totally go on here, but you get me.
Netflix makes awesome movies and shows and their ability to be creative leaders in the space has allowed them to also collaborate with so many other companies that their streaming list is quite robust these days.
And, you know what they say –once you binge watch, you never go back. Okay, what they should say. They should totally start saying that because we all know it’s true.
Point is, I find that Netflix is meeting most of my TV/Movie watching needs at this point in my life.
Because no matter what time of day it is, or where I am at in my house, or how I am feeling at the moment, I can Netflix.
All of the Feels: Netflix Movies for When You’re Feeling Some Type of Way
For When You Want to Ugly Cry: A Walk to Remember
Sad, sad flick with all of the feels in it. I sobbed. And smiled. And sobbed some more.
For When You Need a Little Girl Power: Orange is the New Black
I know, chicks in prison are pretty much powerless in the grand scheme of things. But, when you watch this show you can really see how the ladies of Litchfield come together and make things happen. And like live a full, real life from inside of a prison.
For When You Want Squad Goals: Clueless
The ultimate girl squad that we all wanted to be a part of.
For When You’re Tired of the Haters: Mean Girls
Classic film to celebrate haters getting what they deserve.
For When You Love Love: Begin Again
I love Mark Ruffalo. He’s my favorite. Rather he is Hulking out with the Avengers or launching a singer’s career and falling in love, he gives me all the feels.
For When You Hate Love: The Holiday
You will love love again by the end of the flick, but for all of the right reasons.
For When You Want to Fight the Power: Fruitvale Station
In light of recent events, I think this is a great film to watch to help you understand and appreciate that, while this seems new, it really isn’t. Injustice has been alive and well for ages and we have to work together to fight it. Plus, Michael B. Jordan kills it in this movie and it is so, so good.
For When You Want to Kick It Old School: Sixteen Candles
You really can’t over watch this flick can you? No, you can not. That is the answer.
For When You Want to Think: Supersize Me
Expect to feel really gross about a lot of what you eat.
For When You Don’t Want to Think: Chelsea Does
So here’s the thing, the show actually does make you think, but you can also just sit back and enjoy it. Because Chelsea is hilarious, but she also says things that mean things, and she talks to people who say other things that mean things, and the whole show is just about thinking through different scenarios that come up in life. But not too hard. Thinking a little. And having fun while you do it. With friends, and family, and like random little kids. Real good stuff.
For When You Want to Root for the Underdog: Dope
It’s also perfect for some 90s nostalgia (even though it is technically set in present day), a good laugh, those who love hip hop, and anyone who could use a good Say No to Drugs reminder. Love this flick. It’s about some teenagers but totally not child appropriate.
For When You Want to Impress The Kids: Adventures in Babysitting
Watch the new one if you want, but the original is what’s up. The Dudes sooooo loved that movie and we’ve watched it countless times.
For When You Just Need to Feel Good: The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
She makes you feel like there is hope in the world! She’s sweet and funny and kind and naive and you just want things to go her way. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t, regardless Kimmy has a way of making you feel all warm and fuzzy inside either way.
