Winter illnesses are terrible.
Spring/summer illnesses are THE WORST.
Like not only are you missing out on being outside in the sun with your friends or your kids if you’re a largely friendless soul such as myself, but it’s already hot in your house because you’re too cheap and principled to turn the AC on before “real summer” hits. So then you’re angry because you’re stuck in your sick house all clammy and sticky and kicking the blankets offa your legs while also huddling under them to keep your arms warm.
So bad.
And, ask me how I know this.
Strep throat. That’s how.
Dude 3 brought it home again and I too became afflicted it by it for the third time in 6 months!
We are diseased.
And so very grateful for our Netflix subscription. Here’s our round up of what to watch next time you’re stuck home sick.
Netflix Picks: What to Watch On Your Next Sick Day
If your kid is home with you…
Harry and the Henderson’s. Sasquatch or no, I cry every time.
Money Pit. Tom Hanks is bae and this movie is hilarious.
The Princess Bride. If you haven’t watched this with your children yet, go let them lick a shopping cart and get yourselves a sick day already. Or you could just watch it, no virus necessary. Either way, cue this one up or I don’t wanna be friends with you or your cart licking kid anymore. It is a classic!
Hotel Transylvania 2. Personally, I thought this one was even funnier than the first. We saw it at the movie theater and I can’t even count how many times since.
If you’re looking for a series…
Arrested Development. Single handedly brought Jason Bateman back from whatever show it was. It was like one day it was Jason Bateman 1986 boy next door and the next it was Jason Bateman Arrested Development and also funniest dude alive. Also, Michael Cera with his little 15 year old face and his funny little voice. Sigh, I love this show.
Orange is the New Black. Watch the first three seasons so you can get your mind ready for season four in June! Note: There is a lot of sexy stuff in this show, prepare your mind.
Kong: King of the Apes. It’s a new Netflix series for the kids. You can sleep off whatever evil has invaded your body while they watch.
If you’re home alone and your kids are nowhere to be seen…
Dope. The best. Even Netflix gave it 5 stars and they are pretty stingy with those things. If you grew up in the 90s and loved hip hop you should’ve already seen this film.
The Interview. I love Seth Rogan and James Franco. I know, no one literally ever says that, but it’s true. James brings me joy in spite of, or maybe because of, his quirky crazy. That said, movie ain’t half bad.
Coming to America. Oldie but goodie from back when Eddie Murphy was still funny to grownups. This movie was one of his best!
