And he did!
Dude 3 has always loved helping me bake.
He asks me to join him in the kitchen to bake something every week of life and, while it’s neither convenient nor a great idea for my waistline, I have to admit, I enjoy his enthusiasm.
I love that it is a fun way for the two of us to spend time together while also creating something our entire family can enjoy.
Recently we tackled Dump Cakes!
Growing up, I used to love my mom’s dump cakes.
She hasn’t made one in years, probably not since I lived at home, and I’d completely forgotten about how awesome and easy they were until I rediscovered them on Pinterest.
Thank you Pinterest, you did good this time!
When Dude 3 asked to bake with me on a Wednesday a few weeks ago, I sighed, and rolled my eyes, and got all ready to make all of the excuses about why we can’t bake on a Wednesday. Before I got really into it, though, I remembered that I’d purchased the peach dump cake ingredients the weekend prior, and that peach dump cake is a perfect Wednesday night baking option because it really does only take about 5 minutes to prepare.
Added awesome: he could bake it himself!
