Y’all know Dumb Mom loves a party and, like every other red blooded American worth her weight in apple pie, I’m celebrating America’s birthday by getting drunk in my cul-de-sac and singing We Are the Champions with my neighbors BBQing with my block and trying not to burn my man-hands with the sparklers!
And, while it’s entirely too hot for me to be wearing anything other than a tank top and cut off jeans (with a stylish sandal and a chunky bracelet of course) at our annual block party, I do have a red, white, and blue inspired ensemble to share with you today!
Because, as someone who bucks tradition by celebrating birth weeks instead of days, I needed a patriotic little number to wear to my office on Friday.
A patriotic little number that included my jazzy red heels which makes it entirely illogical for block party wear, but simply perfect for a day at work. Because they have air conditioning. And no bugs. Or kids to be sweated after.
What? Heels make me hot!
Smokin’ hot.
Yes, I’m laughing at myself today even if no one else is because, really, who even reads blogs on a holiday?
Seriously, though, America, the dress is perfecto?!
High waistline that accentuates my slim-ish part? Check.
Above the knee length that shows some leg, but not too much that I look slutty cellulite-y? Check.
Bright, summer color to jazz up my wardrobe and keep me out of black for a day, while still being forgiving to icky-gooey child hands and mama-belly flab?! Check, check, check!
The polka dot cami underneath is not actually a part of the dress, but I figured I’d up the awesome a bit by adding something fun that would ensure that the girls didn’t pop out for a play during a meeting!
I mean I’m fun, but not THAT fun!
My idea of a crazy mom-gone-wild day is wearing shiny red heels.
Which I totally did. Just ‘cause I’m gangsta.
Stylishly mom gangsta.
I know, I’ll stop now.
Happy birthday, America!
Wear something pretty!
*pBd Admits It’s Free: The dress came to me courtesy of Neesha. She is an up and coming fashion designing diva who will be sponsoring a giveaway right here at pBd later in the week. Hold your horses, peeps, it’s a-comin’!
LOVE those shoes! and the dress. Are you wearing a tank underneath or did the dress come with the cool lacy panel?
LOVE
I’m a day behind. But those shoes ARE smokin’ hot! Love!
Happy, happy to you too!
That is SO cute! Love it. I didn’t have a patriotic AND stylish outfit to wear today, so I went with stylish. You’d be proud.
Go you! You have to sign up for an upcoming What’s in YOUR Closet so you can show all your stylish awesome off!
I’m glad you let us know this was for the office and not the block party. I would have to seriously wonder why about you getting this snazzy for a block party.
Hey Lady, I will be traveling in your state Wednesday with Papa on the Harley, so cool that bad boy off before we get there, will ya? Appreciaten that.
Hope your holiday was a smash.
Mimi’s coming to Texas! Woohooo!!! If you are coming down I-10 let me know.
Can you imagine? Mimi and Papa rolling up to your crib on the Harley?! Your neighbors would probably have words!
So pretty! I would totally wear the dress… with flip flops.
No. FLIP. FLOPS! Okay, occasional flip flops! Although, if you come back on Saturday when I plan to give the thing away you can wear it with whatever you want if you win!
So if your cul de sac was Wisteria lane – you’d be the sexy HAWT Mama ;)
Only on this day. Otherwise I’d be the SAHM in everyone’s business I think!
Cute Cute Cute!
Mom gangsta! I LOVE it!!! You look ADORABLE!!! You’re right, the shoes are BANGIN…and HOT even! :-) Have a great day celebrating your INDEPENDENCE!
Independence Day rocked even if I did fall asleep before the fireworks!
you look awesome!! love the new header pic btw :)
Thanks! Figured it was time for an update since The Dudes are all big now and stuff!
Love the dress, and admire you for walking a day in those shoes! Happy fourth!
Thanks, Adrienne. I can’t really say I spent a ton of time walking though. The other great thing about my job is that there are a ton of chairs. The kind with wheels. And, since it’s also pretty small, I can go spend most of my day sitting and rolling myself all over, to the printer, to the water cooler, to the bathroom, into the boss’s office. Perfect place for sexy red heels that hurt if you give them a chance!
I’m here but only because the kids are still sleeping! That dress is beautiful! I am loving the red shoes too!
Kids are sleeping and you’re hanging out with lil ole me?! Score! When my kids sleep I think of creative places to hide so they can’t find me when they wake up. Yes, I am evil.
It was the only time that I could catch up on blogs and not feel guilty. Darn kids make me feel guilty whenever I turn on the laptop! Plus I had to comment on that gorgeous outfit!
***I*** am reading your blog on a holiday. So there…miss hottie pants.
Well thank you! Now, if we can just convince you and about 70,000 other people to also stop by here every other day of the year as well, I should be good!
