Let’s talk about supportive bras, ladies.
Since the very young age of nine, I have been forced to concern myself with how to support the girls adequately and affordably, which basically just means that I have been intermittently failing and succeeding at that task for the past 30 years.
Recently, a reader reached out and asked me to help her rundown a decent option in the strapless bra category. Not being someone who ever enjoys rocking strapless bras, I asked the smartest people I know –all of you, of course!
I posted on the DudeMom Facebook page and got some great responses.
Since I was already working on this post about supportive bras for women with a little more treasure in the chest, I decided to add a strapless section to help you all round out your spaghetti strap and tube top summer game.
Because that is a game I don’t play.

Supportive Bras For Daily Wear
Playtex Women’s Secrets Body Revelations Underwire Bra
Hands down, my favorite and most supportive bra. I own it in three colors at this point because it is legit the most comfortable, most supportive bra with underwire I have ever owned. I received my first one courtesy of the people at Hanes and purchased two more afterwards. It keeps the girls up and the back fat down. Can’t ask for much more than that. Best part, they are on sale right now at Amazon for around $20!

Barely There Invisible Look Underwire Bra
You don’t have to worry what people will think about your bra because they won’t be able to see it –it’s nearly invisible under your clothing. And, so perfect for t-shirts.

Panache Clara Balconette Lace Bra
I like that it’s lacy. It’s not for t-shirts (the lace makes it all bumpy looking), but it’s perfect under dresses and sweaters and stuff. It pushes up nicely so the girls are perkier for those of us who have endured breastfeeding multiple babies and living multiple years. It also has great coverage so there aren’t any bulgy bits. It comes in a bunch of sexy colors too if that is your jam. Be prepared though, it will probably set you back around $50.

Supportive Wire Free Bras
Vanity Fair Body Shine Full Coverage Wirefree Bra
I’m always on the hunt for a wire-free bra just because I feel like they’re so comfortable. I hate that they tend to not be supportive enough for me though. The bad part on this one is that it doesn’t have a ton of sizes for us more, um, developed ladies -it doesn’t go beyond D-cup in fact.

Playtex 18-hour Ultimate Lift and Support Wire-Free Bra
Clearly I have a thing for Playtex. I love that this bra has a super thick strap in back (thins down the back rolls a bit). The lack of underwire makes these super comf too.

Supportive Bras For Sports
Glamourise Double Layer Custom Control Sports Bra
Hands down my favorite bra for getting my workouts on. It keeps the girls from knocking me out while I Zumba like none other. Totally no uni-boob, nips stay hidden, meshy and breathable.

Enell High Impact Sports Bra
This one does the trick of keeping things in place while you’re moving at high speeds. It’s sort of like compression shorts for boobs –everything stays close and dry (mostly). Drawback: I found the 5,000 eyehooks you have to lock in place every time you wear it to be annoying. And there isn’t much stretch so if you have a binge day where you eat all of the chocolate chip cookies while your kids are at school, jamming your lady bits into it could be challenging.

Strapless Supportive Bras
Wacoal Red Carpet Convertible
Designed with bigger breasted ladies in mind (it starts at size DD and goes up to H), the Wacoal Red Carpet Convertible, offers full coverage and a flat middle front with uni-boob prevention. It comes with straps too so you can rock it on the daily.

Le Mystere Scupltural Strapless Bra
It has great coverage and it keeps the girls in place nicely. Plus it comes with straps, and not those cheapo plastic, clear ones, real ones that match your bra. According to all of the reviews I’ve read it does fit super tight, like crush your rib cage tight, so maybe think about going up a size in the band so you don’t want to cut it off with the garden shears the moment you pull into your garage at home.

Torrid Strapless Microfiber Lace Bra
So. Many. Sizes. Tons of strapless options don’t have a plethora of sizes which is totally annoying –girls with all sized lady bits need support when they wear their skinny strap summer dresses. Thanks to multiwear straps you can wear it with your racer back tanks and regular shirts too.
