I freeze in the winter.
As a former Californian who enjoys long summers more than mostly any other thing, the whole idea of winter baffles my mind. I can’t see a day in my future that I will get excited about freezy time.
Lately, I have found myself even more at odds with the cool temps. Maybe it’s that my Dudes are more active in the outdoors now that they won’t just cuddle by the space heater and go to bed at 7 like back in the baby days. Maybe I’m just turning into an old lady who can feel the rain coming in her bones.
Either way, I know I have been craving a warmer go-outside-between-December-and-March winter coat option.
It came to me unexpectedly on the weekend of Black Friday.
Not on actual Black Friday. I don’t go out in public on that day. I don’t like humanity enough to be that up close and personal with it. But, the weekend following, Mimi and I decided to adventure out and snag a few things for the kids. While waiting for her at the rendezvous point, I got bored enough to peruse the coats.
There, I found my outerwear soul mate.
Now, before I share it with you I want to give a little context for the photo. You know how this video has been going around the Internets about the Instagram husband? I’d like to formally acknowledge the people in my life in charge of my photo awesome: The Dudes. They spend countless hours on the back side of my camera taking pics, making sure my shoes are in the photo and that my head’s not cut off. Sometimes they photo bomb me. As hard as they work, I kinda don’t care.
Thank you for your service, Instagram Sons.
Now, focus on the cute new coat and ignore the creeper in the background dressed like a flasher…
It is the perfect winter coat for the windy, chilly days where I am forced to venture out of my couch room and into the out. It’s long. It’s puffy. It is stuffed with enough stuffing stuff to make me feel like I am walking around town with a blanket draped around my shoulders…
All while not even looking like I am walking around town with a blanket draped around my shoulders.
It only set me back $35!
It was on sale for like 1/3 the regular price courtesy of the two-days-after-Black-Friday sale JCPenny’s was running at the time.
You probably can’t locate one as affordably as I did, but here is a similar one in case you’re in the market: Puffer Coat.
