We have been on our Invisalign® treatment journey for six weeks.
Dude 2 is working on a monthly video diary to share his progress with you.
This month he decided to share some of his initial about what it’s like to wear Invisalign with a blog post.
Don’t worry, I hooked him up with some grammar edits.
Kid to Kid: What it’s like to Wear Invisalign
There are no food restrictions.
Unless you’re wearing another appliance, you can pop your Invisalign out and eat whatever you want.
You have to brush your teeth a lot.
Every time you eat you have to brush your teeth before you put your Invisalign aligners back in. That means even when you’re at school. That can get annoying but it’s also super important that you do it so that your don’t get cavities or anything from wearing your aligners with teeth that aren’t clean. You also have to make sure you clean your Invisalign aligners well. Just brushing them really well works.
You have to be super responsible.
You take your aligners out a lot and it’s your job to keep up with them. You should always put them in your container that your orthodontist gave you so you always know where they are.
You don’t have to worry about being self-conscious.
Invisalign clear aligners are clear which means your friends probably won’t even notice you’re wearing them. If you’re self-conscious about having braces or anything like that then you won’t be with Invisalign aligners.
Sometimes they’re uncomfortable.
But, they don’t really hurt. When you get a new aligner they are usually kind of tight on your teeth, until your teeth move a little and get used to them. Other than that they are mostly painless.
