Kitchens Were Made for Dancing. #Sponsored

There aren’t many large appliances in my house that I enjoy spending time with.

Dishwasher.  Boo.

Washer and dryer.  Yuck.

Stove.  Um, are there cookies involved?  Then, yeah, no thank you.

I can’t live without these items, but if I could live without ever having to touch them because my maid and butler and chef were in charge of that, I totally would.

Totally.

Call me crazy but I could die a happy woman if I never had to wash another load of laundry, or fold another basket of white socks that are all about the same size, but slightly different.  I could find joy in not having to make dinner every night so my children could complain about it.  And dirty dishes are for the, um, they are for no one.  No one likes dirty dishes.

But, I do enjoy spending time with my fridge.

So many yummy snacks in there; cheese, and cheese, and like, cheese.

With a house full of Dudes we get plenty of use out of our fridge and, when we purchased this house back in 2006 (why does that sound like forever ago?!) I was so excited that we had this big, double door, Whirlpool refrigerator, with the ice and water dispenser right there in the door.  It was like we were rich I tell you!

We could finally offer our limited visitors flitered ice water when they stopped by!

Classy.  So, so classy.

That was 8 years ago and a thirteen year old fridge is like a 20 year old television; it may still be working but nowhere near as efficient or cool as a brand new one.

We’ve decided that we will likely use our tax refund (pleaseletusgetarefundpleaseletusgetarefund) to buy a new model.

As Whirlpool brand loyalists (we have a Whirlpool washer and dryer too), we were excited to learn about the soon-to-be-unveiled Whirlpool CoolVox Refrigerator.  With it’s on-board booming system (it has Bluetooth® wireless technology and Harman Kardon Speakers built in!), you can get your groove on while you prep your family meals, making using that oven I sorta hate a little at least 75 times more enjoyable to interact with.

This fridge of the future (like late 2014) lets families like ours, who enjoy a good pre/post dinner dance party, easily incorporate entertainment into our kitchen routine.  Just like this, only like, better…

kitchen-dancing

Whirlpool will be bringing this and a host of their other new concepts including Designer Duets so you can say Bye-Bye to boring laundry, a concept for an Interactive Cooktop, and concept MaxArt Microwaves to the Consumer Electronics Show this month, sharing with consumers how their products of the future are all about connection, expression, and innovation.  You can see everything Whirlpool has in store for those of us who can’t enjoy the CES festivities by checking them out here.

  • Since Whirlpool 20/20 is all about a future focused on you, we, want to hear your ideas for it. In the comment section below, tell us your idea for the future for your home and be entered to win a $1,000 grand prize.

My idea for future home? Well, ideally, I would love to have my laundry done “automatically”, without my assistance….and “auto-folding” feature would be lovely too! hehehe….I hate laundry…so, am I asking for too much? could be, it would really be a dream come to waking up to a basket of perfectly folded laundry…some day.

We recently moved into our new home and I have so many ideas for it including knocked down a wall between the kitchen and dining room, removing the current center island and replacing it with something more function, replacing the microwave and obtaining a larger freezer!

I think for the future, it would be great to have my on line recipe right at my finger tips in an easily accessed area. Maybe a screen right on my refrigerator since for me, that is right in the middle of my cooking area. Right now I use my iPhone and have to constantly keep pushing the home button when it goes black while I stir, or boil, etc.

My idea for the future of my home: I would actually like to own a home of my own, firstly, and if I did have a home, I would want solar panels on the roof, and all energy-saving appliances in the kitchen, laundry room, sensor faucets throughout, excellent venting system over the gas range, and a nice open layout that makes moving around in the house, a breeze :)

OMGosh a Fridge with Music, say what?!?!?! I will cook Er’day if I had that fridge! You know what would be super cool in my future home!?!?!? A Stove with a screen to bring up my recipe sites, recipe documents, etc. and that will scroll up to my voice….what! That would make me bake more and cook more for than just my family! No more ruining grandma’s hand written recipes (well if i had a grandma that did that for me) or your recipe cards gifted to you at your bridal shower-which i thought was totes lame but def came in handy later in real life when I had kids! Also, you children are so handsome and i love that they are wild and crazy and fun!!!

I love the idea of a fridge with speakers. I always crank music while I’m cooking and cleaning up in the kitchen.

As for future ideas, I don’t know. We don’t even have a dishwasher so clearly I’m a little old fashioned (and challenged with a small awkward kitchen). But more music is always good. Add speakers to everything!

Since I have a small galley kitchen when dancing is always apart of the cooking process, I can’t think of a better thing than a fridge with a kickn sound system.

I do use Pinterest as a cookbook most of the time, maybe and android device built into a fridge or a screen that can be used to access ones computer some how. That would save valuable counter space for me.
