I spent this morning editing photos of other families…
Beautiful people with beautiful moments captured by me with just enough skill to allow them to be edited to a perfection the common human eye will find beautiful.
That’s what I do.
I love being a photographer, but I can’t say I love the time it takes to do post processing on the hundreds of photos I capture from a shoot.
I mean I do, at first, because I love the thrill of seeing the images I captured turn into art. But, when you have shoot after shoot with hundreds of photos to go through from each, it’s sorta suddenly less fun.
And more work.
So, I took a break in order to work on some stuff for my own family!
One of the best things I’ve ordered in our life history to cover our bare walls is an Instagram poster…
I framed it and hung it and love passing it every day when I walk into my family room, even if the one random photo that I only recently discovered is oriented wrongly does always grab my attention…
I just love that it’s so large and that it’s so filled with happy moments from our lives.
And I love that it is such a conversation piece and point of interest to any of the rare visitors we have.
Every person who muscles their way into our house past the clean-for-company entry way makes it past our threshold spends time gazing at this poster and talking about the images.
That’s fun.
And, since this one was created with images taken nearly an entire year ago (which I can hardly even believe), I figure it’s time to get another one.
Because my ability to decorate this place with something other than photos is pretty much nonexistent.
I don’t care how much awesome décor I find on Pinterest.
So which 128 Instagram images am I going to use to create it?!
Sounds easy enough to choose, right? I mean 128 images is a sizeable amount, unless you’re me and you’re the proud owner of a phone that has over a thousand photos on it, and every single one of them feels awesome to you.
I won’t force you to look at all 1000 128 of the ones I’m considering, but I am going to share a few of them with you so you can help me decide which ones are the most depicting of an awesome filled life. Or you can just laugh. Some of them are pretty much only good for that…
Like Dude in Car. When a kid rides around in your car like this all the time you can’t help but hide your face in shame laugh, right?!
Just like when your son sits around and watches videos of Justin Timberlake in an effort to one day be the rock star he is, you sorta have to chuckle. Because he’s delusional (there’s only one JT, everyone knows that) clearly listening to you when you gush over him like the 17 year old girl you still are in your mind.
Maybe we should just stick with cute?

And SQUEEE, I’m starting to know what you mean about editing the photos. It hasn’t lost its luster for me yet.
I think editing is still fun, accept for the fact that I had three shoots this weekend and more next weekend and they ALL need editing. That’s the part I don’t enjoy; the volume. Not that I should complain:)

Love the 128 pictures poster! I mean those frames that have openings for only 3 pictures — how do you ever narrow it down?!!! Not to mention how much my kids would love all those images of themselves on the wall, until they’re teenagers and some of the pics make them cringe, but that’s fun, too!

I only recently was able to get Instagram because I have a Droid and omgosh, I am SO addicted. (it’s been like 4 days and I have 80 pictures. LOL)
