Or, if you’re my child, instead of striking a pose, you can mug at the camera like you’re gonna shank somebody…
Which is, of course, exactly what you should do when you get your probably-not-gonna-make-a-difference-but-one-can-only-hope big break in the elusive world of child modeling.
Luckily, even his shankin’ face is sorta cute.
And, fortunately, the people in charge of this whole deal seemed to be fine with him doing “serious” face the entire time. Although, in his defense, he did attempt to smile once and it was so very, very grimacey and fakey they asked him to put this one away and never bring it out again…
So maybe he’s no Zoolander.
Although I can’t help but to think of how many mom-snapped I’m-awesome-and-fun-and-so-photogenic pics I have right now in my Instagram stream that I wanted to show them! I wanted to whip out my iPhone and go, “See? Do ya see? Look at all of these amazing photos. He’s not a scary-smiler! And he’s not a hiding a shank in his sock! It’s just, um, like, a homemade slingshot. And he’s totally fun, and cool, and not glare-y, or weird. He just needs like 5 minutes to get his head in the game. Or a Nerf gun. Do you have a Nerf gun?”
I really just wanted to show them all of my photos like this that truly capture his Mr.Funky Mc. Freshness…
Where was this face when he was on that set?!
We can do better prospective-modeling-agents-who-may-see-this-catalog! I swear.
We. Can. Do. BETTER!
We got this America.
We’ll be sure to share the ads when they are ready, until then, we’ll be practicing on our smiles!
Check out last week’s Wordful Wednesday faves, then head over and see what Angie’s Seven Clown Circus is getting Wordful about, and then, link up your shots for this week!
- A letter to her little man from Alli N Sons.
- A weekend full of fantasticalness from The Paper Mama.
- His smile says it all from Make Mommy Go Something Something.
- A beautiful silhouette shot from Behind the Camera and Dreaming.
Oh he is a cutie pie! Love!
He’s so cute that I don’t think it will matter that he didn’t bust out his super smile.
I can’t wait to see the ads!! He’s such a handsome little guy.
Oh my goodness is he just too cute. I could totally see him in ads and maybe even on tv with that fun little personality he has.
My oldest son (nearly 6) has totally mastered the cheesy “cheese” smile. It’s so horrible, it hurts to look at it. He’s ever so happy to model for me, but I have to really work at distracting him. Last time I took him out to get some shots, he started pretending he was a lizard (I know, whatever works) and wanted me to pretend to look for him. His explanation and directions to me brought out the best, most natural smiles EVAH. The others … DELETE! :)
The car photo is awesome… child modeling you say… how does one get into this???
They don’t know what they would be missing if they don’t pick him. I’m sure my boys would be the same thing. Perform for someone else- I think not.
I’ve said this before…adorable. Thanks for sharing.
We got this America. Boom sha laka laka
His face is so gorgeous that he needs no smiling. Seriously.
I can’t wait to see the shankless ads.
he looks so grown up in his serious face!
He doesn’t need to smile, he’s got the hair!
You know the girls were not smilers. Their best photo ever was taken at Target. The ol’ gal taking photos would amble over and pose them and straggle back behind the camera. Then she’d grab that little “button-on-a-cord-thingy” and start talking,”Smile. Say Cheese. Why aren’t you smiling? You should smile. Smile. smile. SMILE.” So they’re both glaring at the camera like they are telepathically planning her bloody murder.
The girls did a tiny bit of modeling, but the owner of the casting company was straight up with us that their “look” was not in demand here.
I’m partial to the mean mug myself. very few kids can make it look so cute!
His hair. It’s enough. It’s beauuutiiifuuuulll!!!
OH yeah your boys are heartbreakers. Momma better be learning some shanking faces just sayin
he’s so darn adorable… serious face definitely included :)
His shanking face?! That is hi-larious!! And all I know is if he posed like he did in that last photo then you got yourself a future Calvin Klein model on your hands…
There’s no doubt in my mind that this kid is going to be famous. You’ve got heart throbs in the making, Amanda… :)
First, thanks for featuring my letter to the little man. *blush*
Second, your little dude, he’s one handsome man. Even with his shankin’ face.
Cute pictures!
Oh my gosh, that totally figures. The one time you hope for smiles and cuteness and you get cold blooded killer. LOL
I’m sure they still got some awesome pics though – can’t wait to see the ads!
They wouldn’t let you run up to him and tickle him? A good tickle was all he needed, and maybe some skittles. Skittles make my kids smile : )
He’s just too cool for school, you know? ;-)
Oh and if you could refrain from using the words “nerf gun” in my presence I would really appreciate it… (I tease, sort of…)
Very, stinkin’ cute in all the pics. Really, his hair is to die for!
Ha ha. So funny!!!
Ah… he’s so gorgeous Amanda. I can’t wait to see the ads!
The picture of him in the car is my favorite!
