In an effort to up the awesome of Wordful Wednesday, Angie and I are instituting a fun new way to participate!
As we’re not super creative, we’re pretty much just gonna call it Wordful Wednesday with a Theme. Because it changes by the month (for optimal funness of course).
Let’s get the questions out of the way up front and center:
What about today’s linky? Is it regular or what?!
Yes, yes, of course. Calm yourself. We wouldn’t spring it on you like that. Go ahead and link up whatever Wordful post you planned for today. The fun starts later!
Do I have to participate?! I don’t like having fun change.
Well, no, but we will only like you if you do really, really want you too!
So, what’s this month’s theme anyway?!
In an effort to be as cliché and predictable as possible, this month’s theme is Something Spooky! Because it’s Halloween and such and we know you’re gonna post about it anyway.
How spooky are you talking?
Of course it’s up for interpretation.
You can go the good ole fashion ugly-and-you-know-it route…
Or you can go with something a little less traditionally spooky…
Spooky is subjective, because, to me, there are few things more spooky than the man version of Lady Gaga, and my #3 recreating that creep fest for your viewing pleasure is even most disturbing of all (so naturally we had to do it)…
Don’t worry your judgmental pretty little heads. I am not going to allow my child to go as Man Gaga this Halloween.
He just has a knack for bringing pop stars to real life. So we like to do it for funzies.
He fully intends to go as something more or less (emphasis on the less) traditional this year.
A cowboy (yeah, he’s packing heat)…
Or The Biebs (he’s been practicing his nonchalant-sexy face and wearing purple Vans)…
Or Crab Man (please tell me you’ve experienced the awesome of My Name is Earl)?
What? He changes is mind daily. I’m just being supportive.
The Dudes mentioned something in passing about being werewolves.
Naturally I thought they meant this…
Apparently they had something more like this in mind…
Whatever.
Point is, your Something Spooky can be whatever you wish, Angie and I just hope you come share it with us and our lovely sponsor (oh, did I forget to mention that tidbit?!).
What’s this about a sponsor?!
Costume Express, the people who have been costuming these Dudes for years, has graciously agreed to also costume one lucky linker (chosen completely at random) with a costume of their choosing (or a gift code to snag yourself one)!
So, when do we have to link up that photo?! I wanna win a sexy nurse costume.
We will only open the theme linky once a month (the last Wednesday of the month) and it will be clearly marked for everyone who wants to participate. We want this to be easy because confused mom bloggers are not happy mom bloggers and we want you to be happy!
Will we get a costume in time for Halloween?!
No, but if you’re the mama to a chronic-dresser-upper, then you know that is inconsequential as your little person can be found outfitted in some random costume, in the middle of summer just as easily as on Halloween…
So collect your spookiness, and bring it (BUT NOT UNTIL 10/26!), we’ll be ready and waiting to read!
What are you feeling Wordful about this Wednesday?! Share you best shots and then head over to my co-host’s Seven Clown Circus and see what she has to share!
*Adding this post to Miss Elaine-ous Mondays! Come join the fun!
Spooky…hmmm..I’m going to have to see if I can come up with something!
Man Gaga… now that’s a good one! My daughter is content to go as a flower child, but my son designed a whole costume for a character he made up and he expects me to come up with that costume according to his specs!
Thanks for the shout-out on Twitter! =)
I want to talk these girls out of dressing up this year so badly. I shall reconcile myself to the fact that that’s not gonna happen. And maybe don my wedding dress like I did last year. PRINCESS! (next to their black eyes and green lipstick).
Umm Blondie Boy and I may be going as Gaga and Judas so I don’t judge :)
Such an adorable miss of cute and spooky! Love! I think you have the most gorgeous kids on the planet. :-)
Those photos do crack me up. And yes…I did change my header…just in time for halloween!
Fun! My wheels are a turning…
I just love how #3 posed for that pic! I still have yet to get monkeys halloween costume…have no idea what I want to put on him. Love that I still get to choose for him.
And I am so awesome…I didnt even know about this theme…and I posted a spooky picture too!
LOL. Man Gaga-cute…Lady Gaga-scary =D
Love it! #3 is a total star. I love his celebrity renditions.
such cute photos
Man Gaga and Crab Man! Bahahahahahahaha! I love your sense of humor! I’m game. I’ll work on something spooky for October 26.
BTW…I embrace change. Change is our friend. ;-)
I love this theme idea! FUN! Oh…and your wear-wolf and Gaga photos so funny!
Love that first picture!
Man Gaga has me laughing out loud. And the Biebs? He’s perfected that look. LOL
Something spooky? I’ve got this. I have SO got this.
Love this idea! And I totally have the perfect post to link up for this. ;-) Now can I call dibs on the sexy nurse costume?
The image in my head with ‘werewolf’ was the same as yours. :)
Man Gaga! Love it!!!! Seriously your boys could
Be poster Children for a costume company. :)) and we will
Be working on a super duper spooky witch costume for principessa so hopefully we’ll
Have something to add! Xo
OMG…the Biebs…I’m dying!
That’s Lady Gaga?! Damn, I feel old. Cause I was getting a whole MJ vibe (and that’s a bit scary in my opinion). Loving how different they all are and how kids express themselves through their costumes. Seriously the pic of Wolverine chillin’ on the couch? The Best Thing Ever.
First of all, thank you for the werewolf pic. The non-hairy one. ;) Second, I love the theme idea. And third, #3 is so going to be famous one day. What a creative, charismatic, good-looking kid!
I love your different variations of spooky.
Spooky ha? I will work on that. For now I got a black and white photo. I mean Frankenstein was shot in B&W, right?
Ha! I like your thinking for the werewolves! :) You crack me up.
Ooooh!! Super spooky! You so used Picnik for that top pic! Love!
We don’t do Halloween here on the island, but I’m sure ‘Timan’ would go as a (were)wolf in spite of the heat, the one with a lot of hair. And I would go with the one without. LOL
Cute gagaish imitation of #3.
I think it is kind of cool that y’all are going to have a theme week. Love the pictures of Dude Gaga.
Awesome idea!!! And yes, I hate being a confused mom blogger ;)
I LOVE those last pictures. My kids dress up all the time in the middle of summer…and winter.
Love the pics of your boys! I’m sure they’ll be darling, er, I mean spooky, this Halloween. The monthly linky sounds fun, especially the one coming up.
Your boys are stunning. Not scary at all. Wait I take that back….I might be scared if they belonged to me. Watch out, mama!
I’ll add my WW later, but figured I’d comment now…
We love costumes in this house. In fact, Baby believes that she must wear at least 1 costume (preferably more) everyday! She plans her Halloween costumes a year in advance and it takes a whole lotta fast talking to get her to switch when I can’t find EXACTLY what it was she wanted to be in the first place…
I’ve got a spooky one this week for you! How fun!
That sounds like fun.. I could never do a wordless anything post you know me lol. Ummm scary like me when I wake up scary??? Yeah that is too scary huh..
#3 is eeriely Gagaesque in that one shot lol
Oh I like it.
The superhero on the couch cracked me up!
I will now forever think of Crab Man everytime I see #3! ROFL! So much awesome in that pic.
well…if I must, then i will …. LOL :D
Sounds like a lot of fun :D
ooh! I’m going to have to get my creative juices a flowing and make sure the camera is out at all times….
awesome idea!
Sounds fun!
My son wants to be a zombie (as in the game Plants vs. Zombies), so I should have something spooky to share at the end of the month.
