Best Gifts for Teen Boys: 2019 Dude Approved Holiday Gift Guide

The holiday season is officially upon us which means it’s time to unveil our 2019 Holiday Best Gifts for Teen Boys!

It’s an annual post curated in part by The Dudes to help parents find the coolest, hottest, most fun, hands-down best gifts for teen boys available in 2019. It’s a win win because you get to find out what the best gift for teen boys are right now and I get to easily knock out all of my holiday shopping for the season.

If you need more suggestions, be sure to take a peak at our previous holiday gift guides, lots of those items are still pretty relevant and available. You can find out previous lists here:

  • Best Gifts for Teen Boys, 2018
  • Best Gift for Teen Boys, 2017

What are the Amazon Reviews and Ratings About

This list represents things my Dudes have identified as items they want or already own and think are superiorily cool. We hope that helps you make a final decision but also understand that picking a great gift for someone you love can be tough. We don’t want you having to rely solely on us to guide you. That’s what the Amazon reviews numbers and ratings are about. Things reviewed on Amazon at a high rate are purchased often, particularly if they have a high rating, so  we wanted to point you towards those items to help you feel even more secure when you make the decision to buy.

All of the items listed on our 2019 Best Gifts for Teen Boys list aren’t available on Amazon (shocker, I know) and for those we won’t have Amazon ratings for obvious reasons. You’re gonna have to trust us and your own research when it comes to those items.

Now, let’s get shopping!

*This post uses affiliate links. If you use them to purchase I will receive a small commission. Each item recommended on DudeMom.com is one we currently own or plan to purchase for our own use. We never recommend anything we haven’t or wouldn’t try in our own home. Thank you for your support.*

2019 Holiday Gift Guides: 25 Best Gifts for Teen Boys

Best Gifts for Teen Boys with Cool Rooms

Best Gifts for Teen Boys: Fatheads

If you have a teenage son, you probably are well aware of how much time they like to spend in their rooms. This holiday season you can make it as comfy and enjoyable as possible, although there is an argument for making it more prison cell chic so they want to come out and spend more time with mom and dad.

Do what works for you, but here are some gift ideas for teen boys that will make their personal spaces pretty darn fantastic.

Wekapo Inflatable Lounger

Doesn’t require an air pump and has a multitude of uses. They can have friends sleep on it when they spend the night or even haul it to the lake and use it as a floaty. We have one and, have to admit, it’s pretty cozy.

Find it here: Wekapo Lounger

Amazon Reviews: 1,087

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Charging Station

They can use it to charge their controllers, phone, headphones, and whatever other USB powered devices they have in one central location. My dudes LOVE this thing.

Check this one out: USB Wall Charger Station

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Projection Clock

For those teens who like to hit the snooze button. The projection clock makes it a lot easier to keep an eye on when it’s time to hit the shower.

Here’s one: Magnasonic Projection Clock

Amazon Reviews: 11,139

Rating: 4/5 stars

Portable Projector

For kids who don’t have a smart tv, this makes watching other people play video games on YouTube soooo much easier. Plug in the phone (with an adapter), project it on the wall. Will also make summer movie nights outside with the neighbors more fun too!

This one is under $100: Mini Projector

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Fathead Wall Decor

My dudes love plastering their walls with their favorite murals and Fatheads of their favorite teams and players. We have soccer ones in my oldest son’s rooms and Steph Curry Fatheads for my middle. They make for cool, easy to apply room decor.

Find here: Fathead

Sleeper Chair

Perfect for sleepovers but also makes an awesome and comfy place to chill when hanging out in their room is on the agenda.

Buy here: Sleeper Chair

Champion Sweatshirt

What’s old is new once again. Snag your kiddo that same Champion sweatshirt you rocked back in the day and they’ll think it’s fire.

Try this one: Champion Hoodie

Slip-on Crocs

Because teenagers love shoes they can schlep around in.

These canvas loafers seem to fit the bill.

North Face Jacket

Because sometimes winter will try to kill you if you let it. Might as well stay warm while looking good.

Try this one: North Face Arrowwood TriClimate

Best Gifts for Teen Boys who Love Gaming

Best Gifts for Teen Boys: Best Video Games Holiday 2019

A Video Game

Lots of cool titles are hitting the shelves just in time for holiday shopping. “Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order” just came out for Xbox, PS4 and PC. If your teen is a fan of the “Call of Duty” series, a new game was released in October that they’re sure to have on their list if they haven’t copped it yet. “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” has received five stars from all of the teen gamers in my house. And, last but not least, one of the most anticipated games for 2019 is “Pokemon Sword and Shield“, for Nintendo Switch. They haven’t released a new Pokemon story in awhile so people are kinda amped over it. This one is technically two versions of the same game, a thing Pokemon, apparently, likes to do with their releases, which explains the cost if you get a double pack. You can buy the separately if the over $100 investment seems like overkill to you.

PS4 Controller

If you’ve got a PS4 player at home, they probably already this one, but do they have it in gold?!

Find it here: gold PS4 controller

Amazon Reviews: 12,250

Rating: 4/5 stars

Gaming Chair

If your teen is into gaming and plays at a desk like mine does, a comfy gaming chair might be on his wish list this season. Even if it isn’t maybe take the initiative and snag him one that will be ergonomically better than the folding chair he’s sitting in now.

I’ve seen these things for $200, $300, and even over $500 and, let me just say: homie don’t play that. This Homall gaming chair has strong ratings, good reviews, and retails for under $100. Merry Christmas, kiddo!

Gaming Headset

So your kid can happily scream at his screen with all of his other friends playing Fortnite. Um, maybe this isn’t such a great idea.

Here’s one to try: gaming headset

Airpods

They’re the wireless ear buds all the kids seem to want these days. They make a great big gift idea for those teenagers in your life.

Event Tickets

If experience gifts are a hit with your son, think about getting them tickets to a concert or a professional sporting event he’d love to see. Movie tickets, passes for local trampoline parks, go-kart racing parks, and other adventure parks are cool ideas too.

If you live in the Frederick, Maryland area, here are a few locations that make great experience gift ideas for teenagers:

Best Gifts for Teen Boys Who are Super Active

Best Gifts for Teen Boys: Gifts for Active Boys and Athletes

Hover board

We didn’t snag one of these for our kids when they first came out because of that whole “the might burn your house down” rumor. I’m not sure if that was accurate or not, but to be on the safe side we decided to skip it. Seems like they’re sticking around now so you might consider slipping one under your tree this holiday season.

Try this one: Tomoloo Music Rhythmed Hoverboard

Amazon Reviews: 733

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Pop a Shot

Hands down, Pop-a-Shot is the best gift we’ve ever gotten my kids. Definitely top three. The play with it nearly every day and it makes for a grat activity when they have friends over. We even have family challenges from time to time—I’m kind of amazing at it, just FYI.

Try this one: external battery

Amazon Reviews: 16,666

Reaction Ball

If they’re gonna be bouncing a ball off the wall in your basement anyway, might as well make it one that will help keep them in shape. These reaction balls help develop reflexes and keep them on their toes.

Buy here: Reaction ball

Compression leggings

They wear them under everything when it’s time to play sports, but they also come in handy for those dudes who prefer not to wear long pants on cold days. These work wonderfully under shorts.

Buy here: Compression leggings

Dick’s Sporting Goods Gift Cards

That way they can stock up on all of the fun gear mom and dad won’t buy them because technically no one needs an American Flag mouth guard or those super sticky hot pink football gloves, but everybody wants them.

Dreampad Pillow

Dreampad delivers calming music and a gentle vibration through bone conduction to bring the nervous system into balance reducing stress and anxiety and allowing you to fall into a great night’s sleep. Dreampad music travels internally, signaling your nervous system to relax and, since only the person using it can hear or feel it, it won’t bother anyone else in the room.

This pillow works perfectly for people who struggle with anxiety, insomnia, and other issues, conditions, and disorders that make it difficult to relax into sleep. It has worked amazingly well for my son who struggle with anxiety and OCD.
